Airbag Failure??

I feel like I remember seeing this once or twice on the early raptors. Maybe I'm wrong. I think I heard baja mode may turn down the air bag sensitivity as well.

Would certainly like to know if I need to enter baja mode everytime I find a nasty back street or in this case an empty field

i’m in nwi and frequently travel in the Chicagoland area. Given all the pot holes this has me worried now

More bad “modules”, I guessing. Not good.

Wonder how long it will take to get those parts…heck, I’ve been waiting since November for a simple Mopar bedliner! Guessing his truck is gonna be down for a long while.

Let’s be real people. Take a breath and remember clickbait. You either fall for it like an idiot or you don’t.

It takes a substantial impact to set the relays off. Is it possible? I guess but probable, nope.

Keep getting drug down by the internet. 😂

We have at least two of them here, let alone the non-members pulling their drawers down for clicks.

Good points…I thought about the possibility he might have taken a “header” if the ground suddenly dropped off or rose up (not uncommon driving fast over grassy areas)…

BUT, side airbag deployment would require a side impact, significant front corner impact, or rollover to deploy. That truck shows no signs of left side impact, significant corner impact, or rollover. Maybe a right side impact?

By the guy’s mannerisms and shout out to MD, this seems legit.

I wonder who steps in here, Ram or Insurance company. Would they total it for airbag deployment and no other damage?

Doubt it would be a total for just side airbags. Unless those are some crazy expensive parts (they are not $15K a bag…even with install).

As for insurance or warranty, if they find absolutely no body, chassis or suspension damage, Ram will likely look for module issues & it would possibly be a warranty claim. Otherwise, most of these cases end up going through the insurer…collision, specifically. I’ve seen it covered by insurance due to a bad pothole hit (there was also suspension damage).

Just curious if anyone knows (I’m lucky not to know), but if you get hit on, say, the right side, do the curtains deploy on both sides? I know passenger front airbags will not deploy on most cars if there is no one in the passenger seat during a frontal collision.

I would bet a large sum that the guy had the RHO on 2 wheels and it triggered the rollover protection.

Pulling their drawers down for clicks!!! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: You get my award for quote of the week!!!

Here’s where I stand. Just like all the people complaining about “all the issues”. I didn’t care and it didn’t stop me from driving my truck.

Those with lesser confidence, drive the truck or don’t, buy the truck or don’t. I can’t care less.

It’s an awesome truck for those who are “brave” lol

Chris

yea it can happen, seen it on other cars, like guys driving on highway and airbags deployed without any impact, it's all electronics and sometimes it glitches..
