About due for a new phone and don't really favor one platform over another. Wondering which is better with the RHO. I know both are compatible and supported, etc. But one platform must have edge over the other. Any insights would be appreciated!! Peace.

My son who rebels against anything mainstream, was an Android user for 10 years and got tired of so many things, finally flipped to IOS. I hate to do what most do, but it just works

I've used Android for many years and with many cars including the RHO. Absolutely no issues with all the functions on the app or using UConnect in the RHO. It's probably going to come down to which phone type you are most comfortable with.

I personally like how android auto functions better but you cannot go wrong with either . Samsung ultra and iphones are both top tier on earth.

I'm an Android user, but the main issue with the RHO and UConnect, is that Android Auto is not full screen and only uses half the huge screen. Apple Carplay uses the entire screen, and it's one of the reasons I'm actually considering switching back to iPhone after 5 years of being on Android.

Sucks that uconnect doesn't do android auto in full screen, unlike carplay... but I'd never willingly buy a iPhone. So it's mini screen for me!

Yup, total nonsense they don't fix this but I'm staying with Droid too.

Google's main source of revenue is data. Apple's main source of revenue is hardware. You put your resources where the revenue is. Was an Android user from day 1 until I realized this and now, everything just works, including CarPlay.

I actually disagree that this is a con. Half of the giant screen is more than enough for the AA display and having shortcuts available under makes it a single screen for everything.

BINGO!! Thank you. I came across that information myself last summer but couldn't remember the specific thing that was bugging me about the two phone platforms and the truck. 100% I agree with you. I have a Galaxy S21 Ultra and have been Android for years on AT&T, but I have no alliance to it and this feature on the new truck would prompt me to switch to iPhone on the next upgrade.

Can anybody post a picture of the two screens in the RHO? That might be a tall order with the slow rollout, but I'd be very interested to see the RHO screens with Android and Apple side by side.

I'll post the android version later today if nobody does before

I've come to like my shortcuts, but they look a little goofy consuming half the screen. In a perfect world I could drag the AA screen to the exact size I want, still sharing the screen with the shortcuts!

Agree...

Apple is too controlling & too expensive... Like the Communist East German Stasi (Police) of a phone.

Android user here. I've been with Google since they launched the G1 in 2008. I can say as far as maps, functionality, and features (capacitive zoom for example), it is a far superior product than Carplay with Apple Maps. The Waze information integration into Google Maps has been a game changer as well. I've connected through cable and wirelessly on countless screens and never had an issue with AA figuring out the aspect ratio and layout. This is 100% a Ram and Uconnect issue that has been talked to death on the TRX and 1500 forums. Why they haven't fixed it, no one knows? Run it for a few weeks and see if you can get used to it...your other option is to get one of those Magic Boxes and that solves the screen ratio problem.

Though I had my mind made up until I read your post. Thank you for the input.

Android is half screen and Apple is full screen. I've lived long enough to know that situations like that are almost never random or accidental.

Can't ask for much more than that. Stunning truck technology.

I'm sure it isn't. But half of this big ass screen is still a ton of real estate and I can have something else under it so I'm never flipping off of the AA page. I prefer this, personally.
