Just drove a limited 1500 with the HO engine and there was no turbo spool sound or blow off or anything.. my buddy with a raptor has blow off valve on his truck and you can hear it build boost and it makes it that much more fun to rip around and if the RHO doesn’t have either one of those, I feel like it will really take away from driving experience. It was a very quiet engine with no drama

nobody has driven the RHO, and you are trying to compare a luxury truck to a off road sport truck. We are going to have to wait until an human drives the truck who's allowed to report on it in order to find out what the rho actually sounds like.

I agree but also raptor aside, hearing an exhaust and turbos swooshes does make the driving experience. Hopefully it’s just the limited that is suppressed.

I'm assuming you'll be able to hear a little spool with these, never going to get a true blow off sound straight from the factory, most if not all manufacturer will use a recirculating blow off/bypass/diverter valve. I haven't seen really in depth specs on this engine, but my bmw b58 doesnt even have a blow off valve, the computer us3s the wastegate, valvetronic and throttle body to bleed excess pressure

Maybe that’s where the extra 30HP is, the sound. 😂

Extra 30hp? They are both same torque and same hp at 540.. that was my other thought, if RHO gets a less restrictive exhaust for performance/sound, it should make more hp as well but it doesn’t. The Limited model has the same high output engine.

I drove it too, super quiet, very quick though holy shit! I don’t think the RHO will be like that considering a tuned exhaust and hood enhanced CAI.

It was a joke lol

LMAO. Just need NOS stickers, "FREEDOM" window decal and a wing for the instant 25 HP bump

PSHH PSSSSH PSSSSSH.

In all reality, you can add blow off valves, mess with wastegates n such. This builds a lot of boost so you'll definitely get the sounds you want, but maybe a lot of fun detonation toots too. Recirculating, while less obnoxious, is just easier IMO.

The more I think on it, the more I want to put 1940's fighter plane noises into my infotainment system. Why drive, when I can fly?

will see how it sounds.. It does a have a bit different air intake system.

Hey man, everyone around is on edge for their truck there's no jokes here tighten it up. :ROFLMAO:
With being one of the ones ordered on May 7 with no movement, if I don’t joke I’ll get frustrated 😂

They said they are going to customize the exhaust on the RHO. I am sure it will sound different than the Limited. Fingers crossed.

I have a Raptor in my neighborhood that rolls through with a big blow off valve. Sounds so weird, keep looking around for a 90's supra just to find a poorly modded truck.

Turbos are inherently noisy, some compressor wheels more than others. There are always ways to increase the induction noise when manufacturers quiet them down. As for blow-off, depending on how they implemented that it may not necessarily have one. Turbo valvetronic BMWs don’t have any at all.
