Electronic safety systems unavailable, limited functionality…service required

2025 RHO L1 with 212 miles. Got an audible alert and message on the main IP, “Blind Spot Detection Sensor Inoperable, Service Required”.

This warning flashed twice over the last few days. Both times, the sun was setting & I figured the sensor was being “blinded” by the sun. Today, the warning sounded and message appeared, but I also noticed the little yellow triangles on the mirrors stayed illuminated.

Anyone have a similar issue on their Ram equipped with BSM?

Heading to the dealer next week for bed mat & power running board install. Hopefully an easy fix.

around 600 miles, got the same alert, asking me to bring the vehicle to service. then the alert was gone after couple days. funny.

Yeah, if I turn my truck off & after a few minutes, restart, the fault goes away…sometimes for a couple days, sometimes a couple minutes. Has happened 7 times in 300mi.

Today, I got a new surprise. Switched on the AC & the warning messages just kept coming. Something about Forward Collision Warning and Automatic Braking were inoperable. Two yellow lights remained on in the main IP.

After a bit a research, it seems this new electrical architecture is just plain buggy. Those with more basic 2025 Ram 1500s have been reported as problematic. Since RHO, Limited & Tungsten all share similar & much more extensive safety features, new faults are popping daily.

If your new RHO, Limited or Tungsten have been trouble-free, you may just be lucky. In the meantime, I’m sure Ram is working out the bugs & software updates will be available soon.

Let’s face it…the basic truck has not changed much since 2019…it’s solid. But the electrical system is ALL NEW.

true. that's why I am not able to install the AMP power step because of the electrical system is changed.
I also found the car just doing its own thing even when its being park for couple days. It just has some mechanical sounds from time to time and I found it moves the needle of the gas tank even I park it there for a few days. Like an EV car dropping its battery while in park mode.
 
I had a lot of funky things when i bought my trx in 2023. Ended up figuring out the fuses in the fuse box under the hood were not "seated" all the way. Long story short open the lid and push down on the fuses making sure they are in place. Fixed all my electrical issues

Dont have my rho yet so dont know exact location but the box should look similiar to this.

They all do that. My TRX makes little noises when parked, and so does my Charger. Some of the sounds are from the instrument cluster area, others are from the fuel tank.

Modern vehicles…yup. My wife’s Tesla makes clicking & whirring noises for several minutes after parking. Figured it was just the norm for electric cars. Nope…RHO does it too!

My wife has a Subaru Ascent and it does the same things. I think a lot of it is electrical actuators de-energizing and closing/opening. Even my 2016 Mustang makes noises
 
Ok…took defective vehicle to dealer…they said the sensors needed to be recalibrated…invoice said “DSM module not configured/proxi…performed configuration/proxi”…per service advisor, this was not done correctly during initial PDI. It was their 1st RHO PDI with the new electrical architecture. Understandable.

As the service advisor described the electronics in the new Rams, it sounded like he was describing the Space Shuttle. I must be getting old because it sounded waaaaay too complex for a pickup.

Anyway, the dealer was very confident the issue was fixed. About 4 miles into my drive home, my blind spot “yellow mirror triangles” appeared & stayed on. The IP displayed the message “Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) Limited Functionality Service Required”, not once but 3x. Oh well, back to the dealer when I can get an appointment.

Do I blame the dealer? No. These trucks are crazy complex & factory quality control is not the best. These vehicles ship, stuff malfunctions & the dealer is left holding the bag. My service advisor thanked me for being understanding. What is to be gained by getting mad? Nothing.
 
On second thought, might be not be a bad thing that my April 29th order isn’t even scheduled yet.

Did they test drive 5-10 miles and use every feature the update/calibration impacted? Probably not. If so, they likely would have known there is still an issue.

They test drove it for 2 miles, per my Ram app.

I bought my 2025 Ram RHO about 3 weeks ago, about 570 miles. Tonight I got an Alert message to see dealer asap about Blind Spot Monitoring. The yellow triangles on my mirrors are staying lit. I have an appointment on 12/31/24 to figure out the issue. So far I LOVE this truck.
 
I had ac leak in Durango hellcat. Said it was a loose valve. Recharged and tech went on 3 mile test drive. Why need a test drive after recharging ac is beyond me. Took it easy though as I watched whole test drive on recorded dash came. Kicker is my ac still leaked (and makes noise like it did before from faulty expansion valve in dash). Point is tech didn’t want to take dash out to repair a common problem with durangos.

Dealer techs just don’t give a fuck anymore. Left screws out of lower pan cover after oil change (only ones ever worked on car). Etc. Have many other stories of crappy workmanship. No accountability. Reason why I will never see dealer unless I have too. I’m going back to doing my own repair work but at almost 60 years old I’m getting tired so repair shops are easy way out. Struggle is real. Lol

Hope the rho comes with no issues so I will never see a dealer service repair after it leaves on day one.

It’s the luck of the draw currently, so best of luck you don’t have any issues like we’ve been seeing.
 
Yes this is where things get weird, mine did that then all hell breaks loose in a few more hundred miles. My feelings go towards bad software but IDK. It's depressing to say the least.
Starting to get lost with if the same 4 guys are commenting about everything going wrong on their new builds on every thread or if it’s actually a larger issue.

Tough to follow….
