I was thinking it would be cool to start a thread with everyone's favorite areas or trails they plan on taking their new truck on or have taken TRX/Raptor/etc. on in the past. Pictures and so on. May give people ideas for trips or adventures or maybe plan a future meet up. Any trails or areas with terrain these trucks like , from pre running to rock crawling. I feel like this hasn't been addressed yet but will be beneficial as more people start getting their trucks! I also realize this is a public internet forum so please if you want your area kept a secret, refrain from posting or stick to DMs for details! We will likely cover mostly popular places anyways but just throwing that out there. Also feel free to post any raptor or trx events that these trucks are welcome at.
Ill go first, i live in Montana but do a few trips per year to the Utah desert to offroad in the Raptor/Buggy and dirt bike. If you want dirt bike trails, DM me separately. LOL.
In Montana there are endless backroads to explore all the way up to some pretty technical 4x4 within the mountain ranges. Feel free to reach out for specific locations or mountain ranges you may be visiting or interested in! You truly cant go wrong for great terrain in this state, I get a ton of joy just doing interstate speeds on beat up gravel backroads. I'm in the Bozeman area but have lived here my whole life and explored a lot of the state.
In Utah the Moab area is incredible, there is truly endless exploration down there and the perfect terrain for these trucks. The TRX/raptor forums have some good write ups for every level of difficulty in this area but Chicken corners is fun, Shafer switchbacks in canyonlands is great if you aren't scared of heights, secret entrance to Arches is a blast and a cool way to get into the park for free. There's a ton of "roads" out by the airport all the way to white wash sand dunes that are excellent. some of the more rock crawling oriented trails in this area can be way too narrow for these trucks or you will drag the shit out of your tailpipes due to long wheelbase. (see TFL RHO video on fins n things). That being said feel free to do these trails at your own discretion/budget. Lol i have seen a lot of raptors out on hells revenge and definitely doable, one channel takes there raptor R on it no problem. We have a buggy so we save the gnarly trails for that and the fast trails for the raptor, Also, every year there is the raptors on the rocks event that publishes maps of 750+ miles of amazing trails for these trucks, TRX/rho are also allowed. I have driven a ton of the trails in the raptor but have not done the event yet.
Here's some links to videos i talked about below.
