First RAM Ever

Hi All - I recently picked up a new RHO about a month ago. Also new to RAM so I am hoping to learn a lot from the enthusiasts on here. I love the truck and have been pleased overall. Had a few hiccups but it sounds like this may be expected with the new platforms and that RAM has done well for their customers. I don’t plan to do much with the truck other than maybe an exhaust upgrade (my bmw x3 m40i sounded way better, this is unacceptable lol).

I ordered mine and I'm waiting for it to arrive, but like you, this is my first ever Ram. Ford lost me with almost nothing but hybrid options on their trucks. My wife has an M4 Competition X drive, no way I can let it sound better than my truck! Anyway, welcome to the group!

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes, I found one that had been ordered but the person who ordered it backed-out. All I really cared about spec-wise was I wanted black and the level 1 equipment group.

I used to have a 2014 ford raptor back in the day. The 6.2L sounded amazing.

First Ram too. My GM employee family are still coping, but the Ram is simply better in every way so far.

That's good fortune right there. I found what I wanted, hydro blue level 1 on the lot but before I could get the paperwork started, someone walked in and put a deposit down on it. Damn! Probably some skallywag here . Decided to order rather than settle for a color I didn't want. It was a shame when Ford went away from the 6.2 in the Raptor. I considered a Raptor R heavily, but ultimately decided that the RHO offered more bang per buck. The 5.2 supercharged engine is fantastic though and sounds amazing. Even my neighbors think so, I think, when I pull my GT500 out of the garage in the morning .

Congratz!! From one "First time RAM owner to another," I hope you enjoy your RHO! I traded in my last Ford truck on Jan 31, 2025, and picked up the only RHO in 200 mi on the same day. The following Friday, it returned to the shop, and they had no clue what they were looking at. Mine has many communication issues between modules and the new system this 2025 vehicle came out with; the dealership that has it has never seen this system before. They do not know how to fix these issues. I could drive mine for four days until I took it back to get fixed.

I hope you get tons of fun from the truck. I was fortunate enough to make the RHO my first RAM ever! So, I am with ya on the excitement and intrigue around being a Ram owner. My father was a Ford guy throughout my childhood until about 7 years ago (I'm over 50) when he bought his first Hemi 2500. He will never return to Ford after his Powerstroke in his F-250 could not pull his fifth wheel, and the Ram could.

Me going away from Ford (my dad was also Ford only) sent ripples through both inner and outer family circles. I got phone calls from people I hadn't talked to in years asking me if I was OK!

Thats funny. Your family was pushing for an intervention to get you back to the Ford side, and my family was begging me to get away from Ford. My brother started it when he bought his Ram. I blame it on him.

Yes, most of us would be over 50 probably a given...

I hope by the time I get mine, some engineer figures out a lot of these quirks. That's how I keep myself from going mad that the tracker hasn't progressed since 5 minutes ago when I checked it last.
