Looking for some help here from the forum warriors… I’m getting a High pitch, metallic ringing noise under normal acceleration. If you guys could turn the music off and just listen to see if you all hear this almost metallic ring noise under part acceleration that gets louder and quieter depending on throttle input. Not sure how normal this is. Thanks to you all.

Doesn’t sound right. Can you take a recoding of it & post?

I’ve tried 3/4 times and it just doesn’t pick up on video. The road/tire/exhaust noise kind is too loud in the videos.

My guess…if something is wrong, it’s going to get worse & the source will become obvious. Just don’t plan any long trips until you get it figured out.

Or, take it to the dealer and kill a day. Hopefully they won’t come back with “unable to duplicate”.

Have you tried turning off your uconnect screen to see if you still hear it? What you are describing sounds like interference in audio wiring. In such an event, you would hear a high pitch sound that changes intensity depending on throttle input and it can be maddening.

If that is your issue, give it to dealer because it can be a bear to locate and remedy.

The intensity of it does change depending on throttle input. By turning off the uconnect, you mean just pushing the power button and taking a drive?

Correct. That should power down your amps and remove the issue. If not, listen and see if sound is coming through speakers. It can be difficult to pin down as lots of speakers can make the sound feel like it's coming from place it is not.

This might not be your issue but it does VERY much sounds like it could be.

Gotcha. I will give that a shot.

Does it sound like it's coming from the engine bay or inside? I have a similar noise that I hear with the radio down that (to me) almost sounds almost like running water. It's so odd that I haven't brought it up to ask about because I don't know how to properly explain it.

Mine sounds like it's just beyond the firewall and has never gotten worse (1100 on the odometer) and I do not hear it with music on

Music is great like that, drowns out all the noise :)

If you can put a microphone or earbud down where you hear it, then record and upload to share the sound. One man's running water might be another's hose hissing. Also, if you have a scan tool with live data, those can be super helpful, though they can miss quite a bit.

Mine almost sounds like somewhere in the front passenger side

My truck has 475 miles had it for a week now. I hear the same noise low rpm to about 3000rpm. I have not looked under my truck but to me it honestly sounds like something loose on the exhaust somewhere. I plan on grabbing and pulling at some point once the temp. Get above freezing here

Let me know if you’re able to figure it out.

Mine had a similar noise when I first got it. Had a random metal bracket sitting on the exhaust manifold. Didn’t go to anything under the hood…they removed it and no more noise.

Anyone observed low diff and t case levels? Seems like a good amount of the trxs came from the factory pretty low. Wondering if maybe the same applies to these trucks.

I think I read somewhere that people are hearing the exhaust butterflies rattle around?

Did you or anyone else having this issue ever get it resolved? @702to540 @cconnorhtx

My noise i figured out is the spring valves in exhaust. The one exhaust pipe does not rattle the other one does. Now that i know what it is it does not bother me annoying yes but am not worried about it.

I'm trying to locate a rattle as well. Limited time to figure it out though. Seems to only do it on cold start, during high idle. Sounds like a loose heat shield or spring or something. It's loud enough though to be annoying. Sounds like it's going to rattle apart. lol I tried to upload a video, but the file is too large. I'll try and get a shorter one.
