I see a lot of discussion about idle time on these and that has me thinking. I noticed on the digital read out when I am at operating temperature and idling it reads 20 psi. When I am cruising at normal speeds around 55-60 mph and light throttle, it is also 20 psi. It seems to live there unless I am in the throttle and higher Rpm's. So, I guess my question is, if it's 20 psi at idle, and 20 psi when cruising, what's the harm in idling apart from possibly slightly higher coolant temps while sitting still? I don't have the need to idle, just curious if there is an actual answer to this, or just old outdated tribal knowledge. I know it's different but coming from a diesel and I would let that idle for hours lol.
