How’s it going everyone,

So now that I finally have my truck I definitely want to up the power on it. I’ve read good things on JB4 but also on the Diablosport Pulsar. I’ve ran Diablosport predator years back when I had my Srt4 and never had an issue with it so I know Diablosport is another proven platform, just like Burger Tuning.

Those of you with JB4, I think this platform gives more power than the Diablosport right? Or are they the same gains? Diablosport says for the HO you’ll see gains of up to 63whp.

Also looking at the installation videos for both, they both install similar but also a little differently on the Diablosport.

Which one would you guys choose? Trying to see what my best bang for buck is without actually having the motor go “bang” lol.

Someone beat me to it! I was thinking this exact same question. I'm not sure how relevant peak power gains are, as jb4 has options for e30, not sure diablosport does, but seems like both have good reviews on here. The one thing that has me leaning jb4, is burgers experience with turbocharged direct injection inline 6 engines. Coming from the bmw/b58 world I'm familiar with them and their success with BMWs, Diablosport/holley I have absolutely no idea what their experience is with these sort of engines. I'm sure in the v8 world holley is well known, but outside of that I'm not sure.

I’m biased but the little addition power you get from the top end of the JB4 isn’t worth it to me.

Granted I have the DiabloSport, but from what others have said that have tried both, said overall drivability and smoothness of the DS excels. Those same people got almost identical 0-60, 1/8 & 1/4 miles times where the difference could have been a breeze or bug impact :)

To me, one of the biggest improvements is the ability to alter throttle sensitivity which doesn’t add power but makes it that much more enjoyable to drive.

I believe both have boost by gear so not much difference there, however the extensive testing and real world results speaks volumes to me. The fact they tested the three tunes towing trailers, just sealed it for me.

JB4 is still constantly “dialing” in their tune so I don’t think they are as far along but I know there is more available for those who want to run E85 etc. I want reliable similiar TRX power and not have to worry about it.

the testing while towing is a very good point, that provides some mental comfort knowing that it was put through towing conditions.

are they still sending you revisions?

No. The final one I have now, is the same one they just released to the public.

Waiting for the guy to come in here and tell us how stupid we all are. Username is Idea or ideal something or other?? Love that guy.

Arriving in 3 . . . 2 . . . 1 . . .

Fuck it... I pulled the trigger on the Diablosport lol. I like that it basically comes with a pedal commander and I don't think I'll be running E30 at all.
Looking forward to how much you love it. :)

Congratulations.

You can run E30 with the Diablosport. The JB4 doesn't have anything special natively to allow for higher octane fuel. She will run great with the DS and E30!

And FWIW for everyone, I have the JB4 and it's great. DS is probably great too with added pedal control. I think both are solid options.

Well, I bit the bullet. I went with the diablo. Did a little further research. I have no financial interest and either and actually previously said I would go with the jb4. To be honest, after looking at both, it just seemed like the diablo website, install instructions, install video, etc. had more thought and care behind it.

One difference I noticed between the 2. The jb4 connects to the map, tmap and maf sensors. The diablo connects to the map, maf and the ecu connector(not including the pedal sensor, as that is not that important to me). I'm wondering if they can monitor/modify some extra parameters that way from the ecu connector. Who knows.

Either way, if weather allows this weekend, I may tinker with deleting the auxiliary battery and/or install the diablo if it comes in time. I ordered it direct from holley.

Congrats!!! Trust me, you will want the pedal commander :)

Chris - who did the install for you? Self? Easy?
I did, it was easy. Took me 40 minutes going super slow n careful. Could do it now in 20 minutes or less.. :)

I started seeing their dyno numbers on their map3 and it gets you to only 500whp as the JB4 gets you to like 543whp in map2.

Wonder if the diablosport can up their power more than what they claim and did on the dyno like the JB4. Even though my diablosport is on the way, I’m having my doubts with the less power gains they have. Not sure entirely what to do.

I contact Nick at 797 and inquired about the JB4. Not sure if to order that as well and see which one to end up keeping.

What I do like about the diablosport is the pedal commander but power wise , it suchs compared to the JB4

Not sure how caught up I would get with posted numbers... Times and driveability are probably a better way to decide, for right now there is only so much either of these piggyback tuners can do. I'd love the largest bump in power possible, but not at the expense of reliability.
