Anybody know if this JB4 Tuner (says 104 wheel HP on a completely stock RAM 1500 on pump gas) Is this a safe option? Feeling excited, just got message from Mark Dodge that my RHO is ready in 14 days for pickup.

LOLOL. You can't be serious. A dealer isn't going to install anything but Mopar. Also, read the rest of the threads regarding this tuner. You will most likely VOID your warranty upon installation. I honestly hope this was a joke. Good luck with the truck, though. God bless.

There's a video in one of these threads. Some are skeptical but tuner is reliable in other vehicles like BMW and its plug and play plus dealer wouldn't install that anyway you know possible warranty issues and all.

Hey hey hey take it easy its his first post lol

I would be very surprised if any dealer would install that. Too much liability

Mines heading there also! When was yours shipped?

Thanks for feedback, I just checked out some of the previous threads and it looks encouraging. My first RAM truck and never done a tuner before. I'm ready to say goodbye to my Raptor 2018. This truck just seemed to good value and better all round.

I think I got lucky. I ordered Oct 31 and it Shipped Dec-02-2024. Got the email from Mark Dodge tonight.

104 was for the waggoneer which I believe is an SO motor. I would not do this box on an RHO especially with the issues a few owners are seeing. May the Gods be ever in your favor though. :)

I think I'm going to wait a year or two before I mess with my truck's brains.

It depends on what someone means by saying "Wagoneer." Sometimes that term is used to collectively refer to the Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, which is incorrect.

If they actually, truly meant Wagoneer (and not Grand), then yup, SO motor. Grand Wagoneer gets the HO motor.

If you have enough $$$ to fix the truck when it breaks, because the warranty is void, go for the tuner for extra power. Just be aware it does void your warranty.

They just picked up a truck and are supposed to be doing some testing IIRC. When this is confirmed to work we are a dealer and i'd be happy to help any other members out with one!

If someone does install one, I'd be curious to know the best place to route the (optional) OBDII cable through the firewall. You can use it without the CanBus functionality but it does give a ton more info with it hooked up

I wouldn’t be surprised if Ram comes out with their own tune similar to what Ford did. Factory mod that will be warranty compliant if they do. Hold tight would be my thoughts. Especially with newness of everything in this 1500 platform. Mine is in shop right now and I bet some flashing will be involved to fix it.

Tim is back in charge. Sure they’ll have something for us performance nerds.

It would be really nice in the options page if you could option for the 95 transmission. Hey Ram are you listening, yo Tim what do you think? Can you make that happen?

Agreed, it’s definitely the limiting factor.

transmission software update that would increase clutch pack pressure without changing hard parts and turn it into possibly an “85” somewhere in between the 75 and 95. Maybe a factory authorize tune that reflashed engine and transmission performance. Along with a new console badge reflecting new factory tune numbers.

I have no idea, but maybe the JB4 also affects the transmission
