Really strange - I was in the system settings this morning checking to understand if I can just turn off Blind Spot monitoring since it's malfunctioning on me. Started and stopped the truck a couple of times and when I opened the door to get out, the Mopar power steps didn't deploy

Hopped over to Vehicle Settings and by pressing the 'button' on the screen they deploy and retract like they should with each press, but now it seems the auto-deploy / retract isn't working anymore.

Google AI says to make sure they're in 'auto' mode but I have never seen that before. Unsure what is going on now 🤦‍♂️

Crap! Hope it’s something simple.

Mine won’t retract after manually deploying them until I complete a new engine start. Have to imagine you’ve done that. Interesting it happened after you were playing with the settings.

I will go and drive down the street and back. I HAVE turned it off and on

Driving it did not work - still no auto deploy

Does the manual deploy work?

Try that, then cycle the ignition. Also, check the plug at the driver’s side motor. Maybe unplug it, then plug it back in.

Manual deploy and retract work as designed from the Uconnect screen. I'll unplug and plug to see if that changes.

I'll also disconnect the battery for a few minutes

I helped the tech here do the install on my truck here at my dealership. The connector in the drivers footwell area that has to be pinned is very difficult to access and there is very little slack to work with. The pins are also very very small and difficult to work with. I wonder if its possible the pin/wire that sends the signal to auto deploy could have pulled out from the connector, or isn't making good contact.

That is quite possible

What dealership did you use?

River Oaks installed mine (and had a bit of a time with it), but it's been flawless since I picked it up from them in January

If you go in the radio > vehicle > settings > safety and driving assistance > power side steps > are they in “auto”, or “store” mode?

Thank you and THIS is what I needed to check - BRB!

Just here to say your Porsche is gorgeous for the 1000x time, haha glad your problem is solved, carry on!
Thank you very much! I thoroughly enjoy getting her out of the garage and getting in some spirited back roads with my close P-car buddies.

I had mentioned it was odd the boards had stopped working after you were in the settings. I figured you had checked the right boxes, but that’s my bad.

Glad they are working again!

Reminds me of how long it took to find the backup guidance lines on my truck…I think most people found the option intuitively. It took me almost 2 months to find that option!

h trust me, no one thought it more odd than I, and I poured over the pages (or so I thought) looking to undo something I did.

I knew there was a setting but my brain must have blocked it out when I was looking.

I forgot to mention that I did a quick fuse check prior to them stopping and found greater than 50% of the fuses needed to be better seated. I was hopeful that this 'issue' wasn't from that.

Either way, it's working as designed now and only out for 28 hours. Lol

The wife has been sending me the new purple color they offer hinting....

I know that exact color and it's pretty awesome

Mine is painted in Porsche Lava Orange and with the factory aerokit with the matte black trim it is a perfect combination. 2022 Carerra S with 200 cel sport cats and stage 2 tune.

Crazy it's also a 3.0L twin turbo 6 cylinder and the sounds between the car and truck are absolutely different. haha
