2025 Ram 1500 RHO
My entire life I have been a staunch Ford Truck guy. I loved my F-150s and F-250s I owned over the years. Then came the "Last" Ford F-150 I will ever own. 0-40,000 miles, the truck was good. I went over the 40k mile mark. and $#!t hit the fan. The transmission was rebuilt under the drive train warranty, a wiring hardness issue hit, multiple turbo failures, and the list goes on. Then, to top this off with horrendous service that was not performed but paid for, ended my trust in Ford and Ford Dealerships.

Onward and upward - well, maybe...

I go to Colorado at least once a year. https://www.youtube.com/@rcsaerialimaging777
I want to go deeper into the mountains than I have with the F-150. I swore the next time I purchased a vehicle, it would be able to go over most of the passes in the San Juan Mountains. I am a 107 Pilot, and I go to the San Juans every year to capture the fall colors. I wanted a truck I could take wherever I needed to go. I went searching. On Jan 31, 2025, I located an RHO sitting 20 miles from me, and it was the only one available within 200 miles. I told my wife I was going to "look" at it. I wasn't going to buy it; I just wanted to go look at it.

There are only two vehicles in my life that I got behind the wheel and knew I was taking this one home. The first was my 2013 Volvo S50 T6 R-Design in Passion Red. The second was this beast! I sat down behind the wheel and just knew before starting the engine. Being the last day of the month, the dealership knew they had a salivating buyer. I tried not to show how much I wanted this truck, but it was obviously coming home with me. Operating from the "Ask for forgiveness" model, I must say this was the toughest forgiveness I ever had to ask for, but in the end, I hope it is worth it. If you wonder how I got my plates on it so fast, in Texas, these are DV (disabled veteran) plates, and I signed a license plate transfer from my Ford F-150 to this truck. I called the toll tag agency within the week of purchasing, and the plates had already been switched to the DPS system, so I just put them on.

I took it home, and the errors began, the weird behaviors began, and the truck began throwing U-Connect errors and service-required messages at start-up. The lane monitoring, the blind spot monitoring, and several other things began failing. I could not take it back due to an already paid-for and scheduled install for the K40 Platnium360 with front and rear Laser Defuser Optix transponders. I will never drive without a condom, and so this is always the first thing I put into any vehicle. I was also getting the windows tinted, including the front window for the A1 Line / "Eyebrow" tint. The second this was done, the truck went around the corner to the Dealership where it has sat since. The dealership has no idea how to fix it. It is still sitting in the Service Department, waiting for repair. Almost a month later.

That sucks, did the dealer try disconnecting both batterys and reconnecting them after 30 minutes to allow the systems to reset?

There have been a few post about issues with the blind spot monitoring, I haven't seen any one come back with an update with what fixed it except for a wiring harness, he's on the forums here as well @Ctech-Review

Service uConnect you can generally get around if you reset it.

I was just watching that video you shared.

"...did the dealer try disconnecting both batterys and reconnecting them after 30 minutes..." - good question. The answer is, IDK!

You see there is another issue here and its not just that the dealership doesnt know what they are doing, they also do not communicate either. The only information I have received is due to me calling them, me sitting down in the service managers, or me talking to the GM - end of story, this dealership has a horrible problem with communicating with the customer. The service manager told me that he used to be a service guy, he understands that to them, its not their vehicle, they do not feel the pain of the vehicle being gone, they are not making the payments, they are not waiting on their vehicle. All they see is multiple incoming and multiple that are done - these are their focus, and they are not checking every five minutes on my vehicle. - I thought this was a bullcrap excuse, and he was protecting his team rather than simply agreeing their communication sucks because it does.

I was told by the tint installer they would not tint my front window due to the scratches on it. They have seen windshields replaced for less damage. I brought this up to the service team. They didn't log it; I went back in and talked with the service manager, and I mentioned the windshield scratches. I then got some "random" text message a few days later: "Unfortunately, the windshield replacement was declined by Mopar." I assume this is from the dealership. This was the only "push" communication that had occurred. I do not believe them if it was. They seem the kind of dealership that will tell you everything is fine to close out a ticket and kick the can down the road. I think the "attempt" at getting Mopar to replace my windshield was lame as hell and was not backed by a team that actually gives a F. Just getting tickets closed. However, my RHO still sits there with major issues.

I am four days away from invoking the Lemon Law here in Texas...

This story is sickening! Ugh . . . I'm so sorry! I don't have mine yet but am obviously hoping I don't have these issues. On the plus side, I do have a "spare" truck that I plan to keep and ultimately sell - once I know the RHO is reliable.

I've read enough of these stories now to walk away when my truck arrives. It will suck losing the $1K deposit, but the risk of getting a truck with problems seems to be increasing.

It's only because the "Sales" team has given me a new 1500 truck to drive until they figure out the communication issues that I am not raising hell. What upset me is that the first payment is fast approaching, and I have yet to drive my truck enough to even get comfortable in it and with it. Its wider than the F-150 I traded in, I need to "feel" that width and get used to it.

I just checked, and I am 17 days away from invoking the Lemon Law. If it's a new vehicle and it's been over 30 days in the shop for the same issue, I can have the MFG buy back the truck and pay for the accessories I installed. I would prefer they give me a white RHO with the same package added and the 2kw inverter w/outlets in the bed. Now, that would make up for this mess... lol

You may be the lucky one who gets it all: happy, working, and dependable! I hope you do.

You may be able to get RAM to cover the payment. I did that when I worked for Mazda Corporate if an item was on backorder or something like that.

Chris

I would consider it if Ram would pay it; then, I would not be as "urgently" pressuring the service team. I am pressuring them because I know the huge payments are coming, and I haven't even enjoyed driving what I paid for. That's a great option to propose to them. Thanks for that input.

Maybe I missed it scanning the thread, but we need to be calling out these bad dealers clearly and loudly. It's important to know where to, and where not to, spend your money.

I think as RamFan stated - the reimbursement is going to come from RAM, not necessarily the dealer. But - yeah by all means - don't send your truck to diagnostic purgatory.

Just know…you are not alone.

Mine hasn’t been sitting…I’ve been living with the electronic gremlins & trying my best to overlook factory/storage/shipping damages. Heck, it’s an off-road friendly truck that’s gonna see some owner inflicted damages at some point, right? The safety system malfunctions have caused me only minor aggravation when I don’t disable all of them…so far.

If they don’t get the safety systems right at the 6 month mark, I may stop giving them the benefit of my patience & pursue Lemon Law.

Here’s the thing…I’d trade it tomorrow (F the lost $$$…my mental health is worth more), but what compares at this price level? Both my neighbors have had electronic gremlins with their V6 Raptors & the interior is not in the same league as RHO. Silverado HD ZR2 rides pretty rough & GM (lack of) quality has bitten me one too many times.

Hope yours gets sorted to your satisfaction. Keep us posted.

I hear you, but that's likely going to add 3 months +/- to you timeline. None of these are great answers - but we should all keep in mind that we are fortunate to have these first world problems! "My $90,000 truck had electrical gremlins so the dealer gave me a loaner while they worked on it" - that's a problem most of the world would love to have!

I need to "feel" that width and get used to it - TWSS . . .

Understand, but there are likely a couple of thousand (if not more) of these on the road at least at this point. I think a forum like this is likely the first place someone goes when they have major issues. So, while I'm not saying it's not a big deal, I don't think what you see discussed in here is likely a valid sample size for estimating how far-reaching these issues are. I probably just jinxed myself since I don't have my truck yet - but just saying . . . My guess is quite a few of the people that had the 6.2 GM engines that crapped out found their way onto a forum to talk about it as well. Not saying these aren't real and difficult issues, but we may have a disproportionate % of the problems disclosed on this forum.

Agreed, first-world problems for sure! Damnit, now you are making me feel guilty that I am throwing a tantrum. I just want to take my new toy home 😎

Yes, to your point, the squeeky wheel gets the grease for sure. If it wasnt squeeking, no one would complain, and would not be all over the internet either. I am sure this is a sample of the total we are seeing with issues. It could not be the entire line up or the entire model, especially with many already on the road and working fine. Those do not have owners posting their concerns - they are happy with their vehicles. Only us, the ones upset our new toy has issues, and we want the issues fixed! 😎

Man I’m technically eligible to get my deposit back right now as my truck still hasn’t been delivered after the 9 month mark. I cannot go through this shit. Not sure what to do.

Keep in mind that the amount of issues is small relative to the amount of people without issues. That's just how these things work.

It doesn't make it suck any less for those who do have problems, but the rest of us aren't creating posts each day something doesn't break down.

Hang in there, bro! You've been as excited as the rest of us to get your truck. If yours has problems, they'll get solved.

Thanks man, appreciate that! I hate seeing our peeps here end up riddled with issues, just makes me nervous.
