Changed my oil at 1,250 miles and sent the oil off for analysis. Somewhat interesting finds as some of the metals were slightly elevated compared to the universal averages. Probably just due to break in period. Molybdenum looks quite a bit higher. And flashpoint slightly lower than average.

Thanks for posting.

Flashpoint lower than average? Could that be due to excessive fuel in the oil? (Never mind…I saw the Comments section)

I changed mine at 1200+miles & noticed a fuel smell, but did not have an analysis completed.

That was my initial thought as well, but the Fuel % is in the correct range.

I changed mine at 500ish. Definitely had a fuel smell, just changed the oil at 5300 this past weekend, the fuel smell was gone

really hard to come to any conclusion yet
wait for a few more changes and then see what it looks like

I dealer-service changed my engine, front & rear differential, and transfer case lubricants at 5,094-miles. The engine oil and front diff fluid were in good condition. The lab analysts expressed concern over the oxidation byproducts in the transfer case and wear metal content in the rear diff. The fluid change should overcome any potential issues. Excerpts from the lab reports are attached. I do not know whether the transfer case or differential fluids were low at the time of service; the technician forgot to check levels before draining the gear cases.

I usually drive moderately with most miles on state highways and Interstates (60- to 80-mph) with occasional WOTs from stopped or to pass vehicles. Some winter idling on colder days.

Do you mind sharing the cost? You mentioned it was a dealer service, right?
