I currently have a Gen3 Raptor and overall not happy with the build quality. I had 2 Gen2 Raptors(they were great), had a 2022 TRX(Excellent), and now in a 3rd Gen Raptor and really regret selling the TRX. Has anyone made the switch from a Raptor to an RHO or a TRX to an RHO? I'm debating on the new RHO or looking into a pre-owned TRX and keep going back and fourth. I really like the updated tech in the RHO and the bump in HP over the Raptor, but will I be missing the additional 2 cylinders? If anyone has any input and personal experience I'd love to hear some deciding factors for you?

Check out this thread on this subject. A lot of good information.

I was in the same exact boat, same with alot of others in this group so you will get a ton of good insight, i would say most of us in here came from Raptor ,TRX or both. I went back and forth on lightly used TRX (too smart to pay over 100k on a truck that was 70k msrp in 21/22) or brand new RHO. I ended up RHO. You get everything the TRX had, interior, suspension, body, 0-60 time and so on plus a more balanced truck offroad, and no more sub 300 mile tesla model 3 range. Plus some nice new upgrades. The only drawback is the exhaust note on a I-6 will not compete with the TRX v8, if you value the sound above all would be the only draw to the TRX. The exhaust for the RHO coming out sounds great IMO so im not concerned. Many of my buddies who have TRX are getting rid of them for RHO so that also pushed me. They like the TRX but it loses it appeal quickly when you are married to the pump and plan your life around gas stations. I went and test drove a few low mile TRX and i would much rather have a 0 mile truck than one that has been thrashed more than likely. My main push i would say is i offroad alot and sub 300 mile tanks would be a hassle in the desert. Basically you get everything the TRX had plus alot more, only thing it lacks is the exhaust note. Also with the dealer discounts on this truck its a no brainer.

I only had trx for about 8 months or so. I wasn't going to keep it at the time due to doing about 25-30k miles a year. One thing at least for me is that it's way more relaxed ride and that's due to when I had trx I always wanted to push it ( probably because it was louder ) and I always wanted to hear it whine. Now being with rho for over a month and recent 800 miles trip it's totally worth it.

A few things. The RHO looks better than the TRX. The improvements they have made to the headlights and front grill and bumper are legit. Also improved the rear bumper. Next, the interior is similar but the technology is better than the TRX. Massage seats, 14" screen, hands-free driving, to name a few. And, the motor. The motor is a bit lighter but the shifting in the inline six is second to none. Smoothest shifting truck on the road. And it's lightning quick. Feels quicker than the TRX (I know it isnt) but feels it. And the exhaust note is really nice. Yes it's quiet when idling but when you get on it, it sounds great. And the volume is legit. It's no V8 but who cares. They'll have a multitude of aftermarket cat systems out in a couple of months. It's a really fun, great looking truck. Go drive one. You'll love it. And side by side to a TRX, it's better looking. Good luck.

Here's a cold start on mine.

I went through the same dilemma on the used TRX vs. RHO. My thinking (and purely thinking b/c I don't have my RHO yet!) is that I needed a new daily driver. I drive about an hour total to/from work each day and put about 15k a year on my daily. I love the looks/ambiance of the TRX/RHO but don't need something that over-the-top to drive to/from work every day. I also have clients (I'm an accountant) that are in the vehicle from time to time and I frankly enjoy some peace and quiet on my commute home to unwind. So, if I was getting this to drive a couple of days a week, I would have gone TRX. But, for a daily, I think this is still an exciting vehicle, it looks amazing and is very comfortable - but it's much more livable than the TRX. Plus, I have a fun car that's my nice weather/day or two a week vehicle. If i want a bigger grin on the way to the office, I'll drive that.

Yoda is spot on.

I didn't own a TRX or Raptor but looked at both before the RHO dropped. The 2024 Raptor exterior is excellent, but the interior is garbage.
Read too many reviews from 23-24 Raptor owners, explaining how the fit and finish sucks and how plain noisy the Raptor is with rattles and loose parts. The recalls and maintenance were other turn-offs for me.

The 2024 TRX is a monster. Could I afford a $120K truck? Yes. Would I buy a $120K truck? No Fekking Way! The ROI/ depreciation borders on insanity with the TRX or Raptor R.

I LOVE my RHO. It makes me happy whenever I walk up, jump in, and start her up.

My wife's grandfather retired from Ford. We buy Ford vehicles for dealer invoice (Z-Plan).

Even so, when I added every option except the block heater (I live in the SoCal Desert) and the bed-mounted Spare. (Glorious waste of space), the RHO was still $7K-$8K cheaper than a loaded 3.5 Raptor with the 37 Package. Many Ford dealers wouldn't honor the Z-Plan, and were still trying to mark up their Raptors by $5K to $10K.

I have ZERO regrets buying this truck.

If you decide to order an RHO check with Jim Glover Dodge in Tulsa. The sales manager Adam Clickenbeard is awesome to work with. They were $11,500 off of stick price including the first responders discount. They will work to see if there is a local dealer for you that will take delivery so you don't have to ship the vehicle or fly to Oklahoma to pick it up. You can reach Adam at [email protected].

Hemi coming back. TRX or wait. Our RHOs run the risk of being Edsels, unfortunately. In 3 to 4 years when you sell or trade in, will the buyer want our Hurricane or a Hemi?

The regular hemi would be a dog in the RHO/TRX chassis. It would need the 485 hp version at a minimum to move all that mass! And the RHO would still be much quicker - more hp and tq at peak and waaaay more under the curve than even the 485 hp version. So, to me, waiting for that doesn't make a lot of sense. I guess if you want a truck that sounds amazing but goes 0-60 in 6.5 seconds that would work.
