What's new

RHO Delivered

My experience was limited to the interstate. I was able to go hands free for extremely long stretches. There were a few times where it wanted me to "check in" meaning touch the steering wheel but i think it was only when it was getting a little confused with the lines. Like when I would go through a construction area. I'm not sure what the complaints would be.
I think mainly that it hugs the left and just “doesn’t work as well”. I’m happy to hear a different perspective though.

I’d like to hear more about this feature from some of the folks who have their trucks. TFL keeps hating on the hands free feature and saying it doesn’t work as well as Bluecruise or Supercruise.
I'm more curious and concerned about the automatic braking and difficult it is to turn off. Landrover in PA would engage brakes all the time, at worse possible times, like roads with badly visible lines, curves, and roadkill. Drove new Genesis a couple weeks back and it similarly engaged brakes whenever it felt it need to. Not a big issue if they didn't bury the turn off deep in the menus AND require you to turn them off every single time you start up again.

I haven't tried the latest Chev automated version but I did do 6k miles of coast to coast and back in the previous generation new Tahoe and it was not awesome. I'd have had to pop Dramamine for any stretch as it liked to search for lanes and would be all over the lane in the process. Construction was next level scary with automatic braking and "lane searching".
Tfl bunch old people who hate what they don't like. The only good thing about them is the connections with the brands.
TFL is just like anything else, if you ask 100 people, you get 100 answers but yeah they clearly have certain preferences, especially in regard to towing and at least those opinions are well informed. The of their opinions are a bit all over the place.

Well in that regard, yes, it did tends to favor the left but never crossed the line. Just enough to make you slightly uncomfortable. I always had my hand at the ready anytime cars were in the vicinity. I wouldn't trust any system 100%. The only time it gave up and demanded I take over was curves with a radius it couldn't keep up with.

On the entire trip it unnecessarily engaged the brakes once with adaptive cruise control on. Oddly enough it was while going under an overpass and the only thing I could think of was that the sun had cast a shadow and when It went from bright to dark, it got confused. And yes, it will aggressively brake.

How many menus in is it to disable and any way to have it remember your setting?

Random braking is a death wish out here with people on phones, a foot off your bumper and high speeds. With precious cargo, I can't be having the assisted braking. All the vehicles I've driven do it even when not using the automated functions, is it the same on this truck?

I haven't got that far yet (diving into all the menus) but I will keep an eye out and report back unless someone beats me to it.

The Forward Collision Warning settings are in the Uconnect settings under Driving/Safety settings.

Turning FCW On Or Off
The FCW button is located in the Uconnect display in
the control settings ð page 227.
● To turn the FCW system on, press the forward
collision button once.
● To turn the FCW system off, press the forward
collision button once.
NOTE:
● When the FCW is “on”, this allows the system to
warn the driver of a possible collision with the
vehicle in front.
● When the FCW is “off”, this prevents the system from
warning the driver of a possible collision with the
vehicle in front. If the FCW is set to “off”, “FCW OFF”
will be displayed in the instrument cluster display.
● When FCW status is set to “Only Warning”, this
prevents the system from providing limited active
braking, or additional brake support if the driver is
not braking adequately in the event of a potential
frontal collision.
● When FCW status is set to “Warning and Braking”,
this allows the system to warn the driver of a
possible collision with the vehicle in front using
audible/visual warnings and it applies autonomous
braking.
● The FCW system state is kept in memory from one
key cycle to the next. If the system is turned off, it
will remain off when the vehicle is restarted.

I was able to buy one off the lot today in NC. Kind of crazy seeing all the comments here. I’ve been tracking it for weeks and when I saw it landed figured I would give it a shot and it was there. Dealership didn’t seem to think it was anything special.

Congrats! Post up some photos! Also if you get a chance, can you post a photo of the payload sticker and list the options?

Yep! I think they're around, just gotta call dealerships and ask where they're at. Lets see some pics and throw us the list of all the options. Did you pay MSRP or below?

TY Greg! That is awesome! RAM Truck FTW there.

Can't wait to get my hands on one and take it off road. All these sensors and chimes have really made off roading an auditory nightmare, and it appears like RAM might have a quiet path forward.
