I haven’t had one hit yet.

This update sets up FOTA capabilities for multiple modules, which is needed for a few other necessary updates to finally get smart phone as a fob running.

Well that’s a good update then. I’m sure RAM will solve a lot of these issues soon. Software engineering takes time and it’s all about sprint releases, meaning version phased scheduling, it’s gonna happen.

Do you have to activate the update or does it start automatically? Being bricked out from driving for 20 minutes could be problematic depending on timing.

It popped up when I parked my car and turned it off, but to answer your question, no, it gives you an option to do it then or set up a time later

Do you have to have Wifi enabled or something for this update? Or as soon as you turn your truck off it asks you without any internet connection

FYI, I’m At the dealer now and asked about it. They said it’s an “over the air” and they can’t do it. It’s being rolled out by VIN, so. It everyone at once. It started mid March.

Mine updated yesterday too and I thought the same thing about the batteries bc the radio was still playing and wouldn't turn off when it started updating. I went out and started it an hour later just to make sure!

Mine went through last night as well

Hope the software update for the power steering road grade compensation comes out soon. My service advisor says this is a widespread issue affecting many/most new 1500s.

If you have taken this issue (truck drifting right on the highway) to service & it’s been “fixed”, guess what? They just “mis-aligned” your steering to compensate for grade…it’s how they used to solve the problem before EPS.

My “hands-free” cruise works poorly due to the lack of proper EPS programming. Way too much “ping ponging” between the lines as the hands-free modules try to steer the vehicle back to the left side lane markers.
