Does anyone know of a good tonneau cover? The debate continues. I’m looking for a cover that can securely load dirt bikes into the truck. I need easy access when the tailgate is down and won’t take up space when rolled up. When loading my bike into the bed, I prefer the auto-roll ones, but they take up space in the bottom. Also, the rolling aluminum ones appear to take up space on the top. Has anyone had any experience with this? I used to have a soft roll-up cover on my Gladiator that tucked away very nicely. However, living in NYC and leaving the truck parked outside, I’m always nervous when I leave anything in the bed.

Can wholeheartedly NOT recommend the Bakflip MX4.

Look at the Peragon Landmark. Its metal and secures nicely when closed, and can remove in 30 seconds allowing full bed access when you want to throw the bikes in. Its also narrow enough you could toss in the back seats so you can put it on after the bikes are unloaded.

I’ve been very happy with mine, had it professionally installed. I have the manual, it locks in three positions, but there is an automatic version. Also have the cargo diver that works with it. I like it better than the flip top I had on my Rebel. That’s all I can compare to. Hope this helps.

Ive been searching for years for a tonneau that works well with dirtbikes to no avail. I decided on the RHO to just not get one for this reason. They are nice to have but the annoyance is real. Not being able to shut the tailgate and i haul bikes every weekend and offroad with them in the bed is a dealbreaker. With no tonneau i can shut the tailgate with my 300 and the wifes 125. I live in a nice area so not really worried about theft but it sure is nice to lock the gear under the tonneau when you are at trailhead to keep angry granolas out of your stuff.

All electric ones have a huge canister that eats up a foot of the bed. making it impossible to shut the tailgate with even one bike. i had one in my raptor and was always annoyed leaving the tailgate down to haul bikes.

All folding ones block the back window with bikes and look like hell

the rolling ones are cheesy, can be broken into easily and look terrible

The only model on the market i have seen that remotely would work is the peragon, BUT with their design you cannot have anything underneath as it accordion folds. and i would have to pull it out and store in the cab in order to shut the tailgate with bikes. You now see the struggle i have been dealing with! i really wish these truck had a 6 foot bed. id deal with the extra 6 inches of wheel base.

Does it space out of the bed?

Not sure what you require but I’m likely going to put the BAK revolver x4s on mine. Buddy has it on his raptor and likes it. Looks clean when shut and stays out when open. Doesn’t cover back window when open either and should be well clear of your dirtbike tires when rolled up.

Does it space out of the bed?
Not sure you mean by “space out the bed”? The attached from the website show how compact it gets. You don’t lose bed length or width, just some height where it rolls up. Under the roll up portion is 12-13 inches above the bed. Hope that helps.

I had a Leer HF650 on my F150's for the last 3 years and immediately bought one for my RHO when I took delivery. As luck would have it found a local place in Austin offering $300 off. It has 4 panels and can be propped up so you only lose 8" when it is opened fully.

I'm sure I'll get some hate for this, but have you looked at the factory tonneau cover? It's a tri-fold soft cover, super simple and fast to undo and fold over, or totally remove it you need the extra space at the front of the bed. 4 latches are all there are to operate. Two simple latches in the back to undo, then you can fold it over on itself and secure it at the front. Or you can easily remove it by undoing the 2 front latches if you want the extra room.

It's not a lockable hard cover, but suits my needs perfectly.

I have one sitting in my garage that just needs a truck to be installed in (hopefully any day now). Major selling point for me was the pinch opening device. Much more secure than a wire that can be pulled easily. I’m just down the road in New Braunfels, btw.

I ordered the BAK X4TS. I like the hard roll ups as they don't take room in the bed when rolled up. Also wanted it for the t-rails.

Thats what I use...

We really are truck twins! :ROFLMAO:
In fairness I actually bought the rough country tri fold. Like the oem one i like the ease of on and off or opening... For the cost(value) if it lasts me a few years and I have to replace then so be it.

I had one on my 2020 Rebel, and it was as good as new after 5 years when I traded it in. Only reason I didn’t keep the cover is that my Rebel had the Rambox bed, so it wouldn’t fit the RHO.
