Ram RHO
Has anyone here transitioned from a TRX to an RHO or previously owned a TRX? I used to own a TRX but ended up selling it because I was constantly worried about it being stolen. Plus, I expected the insurance in Georgia to be high, but it turned out to be even more expensive than I anticipated. For those who have experience with both, is the insurance on the RHO noticeably cheaper compared to the TRX? Also, do the added options on the level 1 kind outweigh having to go the inline 6?

I had a TRX. I genuinely prefer my RHO in nearly every way. The TRX was just too "intense" for daily driving IMO. I like how refined the RHO is and with the JB4 tune I installed it's just as fast as my TRX was. Happy to answer any questions!

My insurer has priced my RHO like a TRX. It even says TRX on the insurance papers.

As a former insurance underwriter, I get it. From a risk perspective, both are in the exact same league. This ain’t the 60s & 70s when a hi po V8 made a difference.

If actual loss experience on RHO somehow becomes less than TRX (not very likely), we may see some premium reduction in a few years.

Same here as soon I received truck early January I immediately had a feeling it's such more relaxed driving. But then again I had 21 trx and only for about 9 months so been a while.

People getting all kind of quotes depending on location and insurance. My insurance only about $30 more expensive than my 22 BTS was and funny thing is the insurance for grand Cherokee my wife uses is $40 more expensive than rho.

I had a 2022 TRX and then a Gen 3 raptor and my insurance was higher on the raptor by like $120 year and then it went back down with the RHO. I know there's a lot of factors that go into insurance pricing like location, history, etc. I have the level one and the only thing that I could take or leave it is the passenger screen, my kid likes to mess with it while i'm driving but other than that I prefer most of the features in the level one

I might have to get a JB4 tune once I break it in. Also, nice that the trucks lighter upfront as well

Hopefully, in Georgia they have stealing hellcats and TRX’s down to a science for the motor. Luckily I moved to Florida so it’s not so crazy out here

most people in here had trx before rho so you will get some good feedback. I havent found a trx owner who has regretted the switch yet.

If you are coming from literally any other truck besides a TRX... the RHO is the best truck you've ever driven.

If you are coming from a TRX - it's still the best truck you've ever driven, just quieter. The exhaust note does hurt the first few times, as others pointed out. However, the aftermarket options from Corsa/AWE/MagnaFlow coming out soon do sound promising.

Best way to describe it: the RHO feels quicker, but not faster, than the TRX.

It is more refined and slightly understated.

Placed my order last month. Order confirmed, but still not scheduled.

I've had my 2017 Silverado 5.3 LTZ for 8 years, have 100,000 miles on it.

RHO will be a nice Upgrade !!

Although my RHO is better on paper in every way than my Ram SRT-10 , It was still the most fun I've ever had in a truck. Full bolt on, 10 cylinders, and a 6 speed is hard to beat in pure driving pleasure.

Similar to above - place my order last month...it is confirmed and scheduled, although not in production yet.

I have a 2020 Ram 1500 with 128,000 miles on it. It's got the Hemi in it and has been a fantastic truck. I know I'll miss the cold morning start up sound on it, but after test driving the TRX and RHO - I don' t think there's any comparison between the three.

2020 Ram 1500 V8 to me feels like a very refined 'work' truck. It rides great, looks great and has a few bells and whistles which make it a great daily driver. While it's served me and the family well, at the end of the day, it's still feels like a 'work' truck. (and there's nothing wrong with that)

The TRX is on the other side of the spectrum from my 2020 - it's an in your face, non-apologetic...beast. I know many people use it as a daily driver, but after driving it many hundreds of miles, it's just too 'much' for me. Yes, I go on the occasional trail 'up north' in Michigan, which would be fun in the TRX, I'm not doing it enough to justify the TRX. I found the ride to be pretty stiff and it's loud - real loud. Both inside and out. It's all good, but it's tough to be on a conference call without someone asking what all the commotion is. I'm not saying the TRX should be used for conference calls - but my guess is 95% of those buying this truck will be on a conference call from time to time.

The RHO is truly a great blend of the two. As the Super Bowl commercial goes - it's a Goldilocks of a truck. It's refined, yet it's not. It will blow away most anything that comes up next to it at a light, but you can also squeeze 17 miles to the gallon on the expressway with it. It's way quieter than I expected on the inside - which is in part because it's an I6 and not a V8. While one may miss the growl of the TRX, you won't miss the constant drone - I promise. The interior is fantastic and technologically superior to the TRX. I get that there are issues, but there are issues with every car now adays. I'm hopeful most will be handled via software updates.

Anyway, I'm really excited to take delivery of the RHO soon - it's going to be fun to drive...albeit to a fancy dinner or the trails. Can't wait!

I wonder which automaker will be the first to bring back a true "street truck" like that. Chevy has the Corvette pickup concept, but who knows if it make ever see production.

I personally would love an updated TRX with slightly reduced offroad cred to bolster on-road performance, like, say, 20s from the factory but retaining A/T 35 tires.

If/when the TRX does come back, I hope they do NOT force us into a 37s package, a la the Raptor R... fine to offer, but make it an option.

Yesterday, I waved to a TRX driver in the grocery store parking lot, and he flipped me off!

I ignored his juvenile hand gesture, and he went all in with a V-8-Powered display of his Acute Neanderthal Syndrome by chirping the tires around a corner, almost taking out a family walking into the store!

The Dad was ripping him a new one as I parked and walked by, laughing.

For the most part, getting old sucks, but the wisdom of age does shine through on occasion.

Quite frequently, the people who complain about "snowflakes" are the ones who get butt hurt the fastest and actually are snowflakes themselves.

Some of the TRX community, like myself, view RHO guys as brothers-from-another-mother. Do we all want RHOs, no, but we can all get along with awesome trucks. If my truck was totaled tomorrow for some reason, I'd be in the market for a RHO, most likely.

Others are offended by the mere mentioning of the truck. If nothing else, I cannot believe they don't see that the RHO is similar enough to the TRX that a lot of accessories for one will fit the other, so the more of us out there, the more options we can have to mod our trucks the way we want them.

Definitely a TK supporter. :ROFLMAO:

I have been pondering this as well. My buddy just picked up a Syclone which really got me thinking. Most people buying the modern TRX/raptor/rho never offroad and just want to go fast. The street truck would sell like crazy from any MFG. Lots of guys buying the single cab coyote f150 and superchrging them, i think ford even offered this with a warranty in 2022. Anyways would be killer to see the street truck scene come back.
