Picked up my RHO just over two weeks ago and have put on 2,000 miles so far. I must say, this truck is everything and more than what I was hoping for. While waiting to take delivery I found myself going down some rabbit holes on issues others are having and had me second guessing if the RHO was the right move. Happy to say, I couldn’t be happier with it!
So far haven’t done anything crazy to it, just tints all around, bak revolver, WT floor mats, and mudflaps. The flaps were never on the list but after my first time driving on a wet road and seeing what the side of my brand new FBM paint looked like, it was time!
This past weekend I put on about 1,200 miles for a boar hunt trip. Truck was incredibly comfortable and a beast on a very hilly highway. All the power I could ask for. Averaged about 14 MPG on the trip, up from the 12ish when I took delivery and drove around town. Hands free driving worked well on the highway. At times the truck bounced around the lane and crossed over a couple of times but quickly corrected itself.
Wish I could say I’m one of the lucky ones on the no issue list but, all of mine have been very minor and chalking them up as flukes. First oddity was getting stuck after the auto start/stop turned the motor back on a traffic light. Motor kicked back on, hit the gas, didn’t go anywhere, and the D gear started flashing. Quickly shifted into park and back into drive, which fixed the issue. Hasn’t happened since but thinking it’s somehow related to the auto start/stop.
A few days ago I got a message to service the active dampening system and that the 4WD system is temporarily unavailable. Truck drove like it was on bricks, the dampening system does quite a bit for the ride quality! Took it into Koons, who quickly found a disconnected connector. In and out in about 45 mins. Probably something I could have fixed myself but was hesitant with messing with anything electrical on this truck. Service manager mentioned it looked like it wasn’t fully seated from the factory.
Last was today when I started the truck and the cluster and heads-up display were black. Turned the truck off and on but had the same issue. Turned it off again and let it fully shut down for a few minutes, turned back on and everything was fine.
Sorry for the long winded post but wanted to reassure those who are hesitant about this truck. I absolutely love it and want to keep the positive vibes with the RHO flowing!
