V8 LIVES ON… anyone else worried about value drop?

Soo dodge announced the V8 lives on with their Hemi. 5.7, 6.4 and 6.2 supercharged.. anyone else worried about value dropping on these beasts once they start putting V8s back in new trucks? There’s a lot of die hard V8 people that doubt reliability or just want a V8 rumble. What are your thoughts?

V8 population is small kinda like 2 door vs 4 door wrangler. It'll take some years but if the hurricane is decent enough it's gonna be way more popular so I don't see drop in value other than normal depreciation. Similar to ford v8 and ecoboost apparently ecoboost is more popular. The only ones who actually want the v8 are the ones not bitchin on the video comments lol

Well they said trx is not gone so even if it stays v8 or tuned i6 we still are looking at 100+k truck. So I'm sure it makes no difference because that whole different population of buyers.

I wouldn't hold much hope on that. They invested a shit load of money and R&D to bring the 3.0L HO to market. The web has soooo much misinformation.

Unless I’m missing something, I don’t really understand the correlation of Dodge keeping the offering of HEMIs in the current Durango platform that has been around since 2011, to RAM putting the HEMI back into their 1500s… To me, this just seems like a marketing ploy for their decade old Durango, and trying to get 100k for the last few Hellcat Durangos they build when they finally twilight after the 2025 model year.

Not worried about it. Got mine 2 days ago. 600 mile trip today and loved it. Crazy how fast it can go from 70 to 100 and still pulling like a freight train.

Took it easy yesterday and this morning, but once I got over 300 miles, I hit it a couple short WOT bursts on the interstate. Not anywhere near pushing it fully and it f’n ripped! Also ran hands free for a while and it was flawless. Ready to really open it up now and see what it can do, but I can’t imagine being disappointed.

Not worried about the value drop. Love my 2 week old RHO. I didn't consider buying a TRX because the pickup is my daily driver, and while I'm not overly concerned about gas milage, single digit MPG is out of the question. Happy that they're keeping the V8 around also. Almost pulled the trigger on a Durango Hellcat before I bought the RHO.

Now, if they'd get the damn Hellcat back into the Grand Cherokee, I'll be first in line!!

They are doing a final run of hellcat durango in 2025, probably had some hellcat motors to use up....How does this equate to Ram bringing back all hemi and no more I6 they invested billions into...yeah...right LOL . the hellcat will be gone after 2025 durango. everyone calm down. If your buying a brand new vehicle as an investment you are an idiot. Epa is the hellcat roadblock, not the CEO. i bet we never see a hellcat trx again, mark my words, the raptor R is short lived as well. Face it, 700 hp supercharged v8 are a thing of the past with the shitty EPA. if you are basing the value of your truck based off if it has a hellcat or not, then just buy a 21-24 TRX. LOL. The raptor has the R and still sells for nearly $100k and hold tremendous value so i wouldn't worry. Also most of us got $10k discount which helps massively with depreciation. You could drive the RHO 2 years and sell it for what you paid new.

At the time I purchased my 23 Durango Hellcat Koon’s was asking 50k over MSRP. Most dealers were 5 to 20k over MSRP. I shopped around and worked hard to get MSRP at just over $100k. 1.5 years later with 17k miles I’m seeing 60’s for street price of totally stock Hellcat Durango. Tell me again how these V8s hold their value? LMAO.
