1st oil change…DIY FYI

They are listed in the manual…I don’t have it handy right now. Are you planning to buy the fluids before your RHO arrives? If yes, let me know & I will post the specifics.

BTW, 30K miles for diff fluid changes is the “severe duty” recommendation by Ram, per my service advisor. I need to confirm that in the manual, but sounds correct.
thanks, I found it all in the manual. I wasn't sure if it was suggested to do diffs/transfer along with the oil change at 500 miles.

Oil every 6,000/6 months, transfer case every 30,000/30 months, and "inspect" front and rear axel fluid every 24,000

Did anybody decide on an oil or know of others that are API-sp and MS-a9021? right now I'm leaning towards amsoil

I can say this, my current vehicle is a 22 tahoe RST with the 6.2. The last time the dealer changed my oil they didn’t even tighten the oil filter and it poured oil. I wanted to do all my oil changes at the dealer for warranty reasons so there’d be a lower probability of warranty declining a claim (not sure if this would even help). No one cares about your car more than you and many of the tech’s changing your oil are likely young, inexperienced and careless. I’m going to be doing all of my own oil changes on the RHO for this reason. Not sure if OP’s reasoning is similar but just my .02.

This. I only had one oil change in either of our vehicles in the last 10+ years performed by someone other than me. It was on my wife’s Armada. I noticed that there was a moderate sized oil leakage under her vehicle on our garage floor the day after. Had it gone unchecked, my estimation is it would have had oil starvation within a week. Luckily I was paying attention and got up under it and noticed the oil pan plug was leaking and I was able to hand tighten it by a quarter turn before I put a wrench on it. I totally get why someone would pour their labor on it to ensure if something went wrong, and it shouldn’t, it’s on me versus someone else. I’ll put my name on it.

Has anyone completed the first oil change and used a fixed cap filter wrench? If yes, was it a 15 flute, 74mm?

Edit: Picked up up a 74/76mm 15 flute…perfection…just FYI
