What do you guys think is killing these batteries ?
Seems absolutely par for the course for Stellantis.Great question on clearing codes after changing the battery. So, DIY guys will still have to make an appointment. Schlep to the dealer. Wait. Hope for the best.
Wonder what they will charge to “clear the codes”, after warranty expires?
Interesting they want you to remove the main battery IBS (?) connector before removing the battery terminals, yet re-connect it BEFORE re-installing the battery terminals. Did I hear that correctly? Seems counter-intuitive.
With the positive terminal re-connected, it’s common to get a surge or spark when re-connecting the negative terminal. Seems having a delicate computer connnected before this step is asking for trouble.
I’ve cleared codes with my code reader. There’s a difference between active and stored codes. CEL on there’s some wrong, CEL blinking stop driving immediately, CEL was on and now off = what was going on communicated in the form of a stored code. After my RHO repeatedly failed to restart upon a green light, the dash would light up like the Vegas strip. Everything from the Uconnect system to the transmission would throw a code. All false positives because of the low voltage scenario. 32 total stored codes. The only thing you can’t do is get the detail level of battery/charging data the dealer can from the IBS. Most codes are reset though the OBD port by a “pod” wirelessly connected to their laptop in the dealer’s case. Some codes are only stored and don’t cause a CEL.Why can't I use my code reader to clear codes?
I wish I didn't obsessively read everything on these forums! Between my truck sitting for a month after completion and inspection with no sign of it being alive on the Ram app, I'm really getting concerned. I don't have time to be at the dealership all the time dealing with these gremlins. Ugh . . .I’ve cleared codes with my code reader. There’s a difference between active and stored codes. Really curious if there’s something draining all of these batteries due to bad wiring or software problems keeping accessories running after shutdown. My truck arrived at dealer dead on Tuesday and they can’t figure out what happened. Makes me hesitant to purchase it and have started looking at other vehicles now. If it’s either a bad auxiliary across a lot of these or some silly software issue that’s fine, but if it’s poor electrical system design causing faults that are draining batteries it’s a big no go for me.Call from dealership, auxiliary battery shot
Did the auxiliary die just because it’s a POS or was something pulling from it?Has anyone had multiple battery failures?
Seems like most stories go like this: factory AUX battery sucks --> AUX battery fails --> AUX battery replaced --> no more issues.
If that's the case, then just have them replace and roll on with it.
FWIW, the battery on my TRX randomly died once not long after I bought it. It can happen on any platform.

Exactly, that’s what we collectively MUST determine. If this issue repeats itself AFTER battery replacement, then we know we have another root cause yet to be determined. I still haven’t taken possession of mine, I’m still on the fence, so many issues going on across many people for my liking.Well that's what I'm getting at.. if the batteries are not failing once replaced, then the problem is with the batteries themselves.
Um let’s use common sense and go to the dealer and get this fixed under warranty?Great video, thank you for posting and providing great content for the RHO.
Jumping the battery didn’t work, so I’ll hold off on buying a jump starter. I guess I should keep a towing company’s number handy.
And come on, are you really that obtuse where you ask question here about a warranty concern before going to the dealer?Great video, thank you for posting and providing great content for the RHO.

Gtfo. You don’t deserve to own any new vehicle.
Ugh
