2025 Ram 1500 RHO Hurricane Bad Batteries? Battery Change process | What killed the battery?

Has anyone had multiple battery failures?

Seems like most stories go like this: factory AUX battery sucks --> AUX battery fails --> AUX battery replaced --> no more issues.

If that's the case, then just have them replace and roll on with it.

FWIW, the battery on my TRX randomly died once not long after I bought it. It can happen on any platform.
I’ve seen a few posts from people stating they’ve gone through multiple batteries. Honestly, though, if the first one happens in less than 5k miles for the most part, we don’t have a huge population of people at 10k+ miles as of yet… so it’s a bit early to know if it’s a design failure that will continue recurring.

What we do know, is these are becoming commonplace. Between here and Facebook, multiple battery failure messages per week. Sometimes it’s batteries, others it’s electrical connections, modules, etc.

Exactly, that’s what we collectively MUST determine. If this issue repeats itself AFTER battery replacement, then we know we have another root cause yet to be determined. I still haven’t taken possession of mine, I’m still on the fence, so many issues going on across many people for my liking
I don't think it's necessarily a one and done fix. My buddy's Wagoneer had this happen twice. I know the architecture is different in these vs. Wagoneers (I think ours is updated and theirs is not), but the volume of dead battery issues with this platform is very high - and I can't imagine I happen to be the only one that knows of this happening more than once.

I wish I didn't obsessively read everything on these forums! Between my truck sitting for a month after completion and inspection with no sign of it being alive on the Ram app, I'm really getting concerned. I don't have time to be at the dealership all the time dealing with these gremlins. Ugh . . .
I’m CTech-Reviews. I still love the truck. I’m confident Ram will get it figured out. With Carlos Tavares as CEO we were victim to shortcuts that impacted quality. With Tim Kuniskis at the helm now and bringing back American engineers, they’ll get the ship righted.

Lol this is what ChatGPT is telling me this morning 😳🤣:

“The 2025 RAM 1500, including the RHO, has had reports of electronic glitches, battery drain issues, and some infotainment system bugs. If RAM doesn’t fully address these for 2026, it might not be worth waiting. But if they do, the 2026 model could be a more refined choice.

If you need a truck now and don’t want to deal with potential first-year issues of a new model, the 2025 might be the safer bet—just make sure to check for software updates and recalls. If you can wait, the 2026 might come with improvements, but it’s a gamble.”

Um let’s use common sense and go to the dealer and get this fixed under warranty?

Chris
Yes for sure. I’m not going to pay anything out of pocket as long as my truck is under warranty. In the video, he mentioned trying to jump-start it, but it didn’t work. My point is that we don’t need to buy a jump starter since it didn’t work. My truck hasn’t been delivered yet, but I plan to drive it in good faith and hope for the best without any issues.

And come on, are you really that obtuse where you ask question here about a warranty concern before going to the dealer?

Gtfo. You don’t deserve to own any new vehicle.

Ugh

Wait I just saw this. Was this comment meant for me, someone else, or sent by mistake?
awaiting your response.

I’ve had 3 sets of batteries…headed for 4th set. BUT, a persistent dealer thinks they have found the culprit. Bad modules.

Waiting on parts that should be here next week. We’ll see if that’s a fix. If not, I won’t be an RHO owner much longer.

I have had my truck for 2 months and 3300 miles with no issues. I turned off the proximity wake up mode and anything else that was automatic the day i bought it and removed card key.

Can you specify which modules they're talking about for future reference?

I was on multiple forums and in a bad mood and was responding to multiple threads. It’s nothing for you.

I've had my RHO 3 months and no issues. I went to airport and left it 7 days without problem. I don't have dashcam or anything connected.

For me it's a step up from my previous Raptor Gen 2. I Love driving RHO, it's quicker, more sporty and more fun to drive.

I wish it had 2WD option and could leave the door open when backing up for trailer, but other than that I'm loving it. Best value for money truck.

I love my RHO also...coming from Gen 1/2/3/3.5 Raptor I think this Hurricane is best in class boosted 6 too.

Good luck on yours, keep us posted as to what this could be. I am convinced part of the issue will be consistent across these trucks. The common theme so far seems to be battery issues, a hand full of cats going back, and a few wire harness issues. I think a lot of this is causing other issues.
