I see an aFe air filter is available. Wondering if it’s less restrictive than the stock filter so we can hear some more turbo spool? The description says it’s intended for street use. Any thoughts or maybe Nick797 can chime in

aFe claims “up to” 32% more airflow with this filter.

And pretty much every air filter company is going to say “street use” unless you’re also buying a sock to go over it (for off-road use).

I still can’t get over what these guys and OEM charge for a filter. Been a bit since I bought a cold air intake but for over $300 I feel we should get more than a filter lol

I always use these types of filters but man 300 bucks seems high and I'm not cheap my any stretch of the imagination...

Agreed with both of you above, a $300 air filter is a bit much and I’m not a cheap person either.. what I’ve seen with SB filters they are advertising a full “cold air intake” for $350 they are developing. Wonder if that’s minus the filter, just the intake tube since an air filter is $300 alone.

We are hoping that S&B Comes out with a direct fit replacement filter (I've emailed Cayman & Ryan @ S&B To get some info) I know they are working on a full intake system. (We know that may not be everyone's cup of tea)

This is really just a replacement for a factory air filter, aftermarket companies usually do come with some pretty in my opinion "wild" claims from small parts like this.

The actual part is not out yet, its still in pre release so the pricing may change but I imagine they were trying to be on par with the only other replacement right now which is the OEM Mopar @ an MSRP of $327.

The truck is on its early stages of being out, I don't anticipate anyone requiring an air filter replacement any time soon, so for the time being I would say hold off I know everyone is eager on these trucks! But more stuff is coming to market by the day, I am just doing my best to get these parts loaded on the site & ordered up so that for when people are ready to mod we've got it.

I'm also wondering if our lack of noise is in that factory tube from where the turbos go 2-1 then into the filter with that giant resonator. Was going to adventure into putting a pipe and two couplers there and see if it makes any difference for the time being, turbo noise would make this thing alot more fun to drive!

"Up to" is always my favorite marketing jargon because it includes 0.

My sentiments as well. I hope AFE gets rid of the intake silencer. I would like to hear the turbos.
