Almost accident: Forward Collision > Active Braking

I almost got bit the other day, too. Someone was hitting a left turn lane from the left traffic lane and my RHO decided to flash red at me, scream, and slam on the brakes. Caught me off guard. Now turned off. SMH

Thanks for the reminder. I went in today and turned off all of this.
For grins, I turned mine to max sensitivity and tried to play some real-world GTA and as I suspected, it'd let me rack up points like nobody's business because mine do absolutely nothing. :ROFLMAO: I'm gonna turn them off, just in case they magically turn on but I maybe should have it checked out at dealer...maybe.

This is the main reason why I don't like these features. Inconsistent functionality is worse than none.

If it works predictably, fine. But if I start to expect the help and it isn't there or if it is there when I don't expect it, that's dangerous

Had same issue on HWY in PA in 2024 Landrover Defender, it slammed on the brakes when I was going 80 over the last of some animal remains. Kids tablets went flying, wife lost whatever she was holding and managed to-do some Matrix level bitching at me while vehicle skidded to a stop.

At least RHO we can disable it, Landrover hides it several menus deep, can only find it when in park and resets to on at high sensitivity at every start up.
My '17 GC SRT, '19 Wrangler JLU and my '20 Eco Limited have all had erroneous emergency braking episodes. Have not experienced any on our Defender though?!

Haven't ran over animal remains, a stick or gone over old, faded traffic lines around a turn yet? I had all sorts of trouble in NE PA with all those things. I also wanted to test out it's notoriously slow and controlled downhill crawl, found a super long hill with crazy steep grade and away I went. 15 minutes later, I thought my mother-in-law was going to murder me, but my wife and kids couldn't stop laughing.

My favorite part with Defender is that as it slams on the brakes, it pops up on screen telling you that "emergency brakes have engaged". Who's reading that while stuff is flying and crossing fingers you don't get hit? :ROFLMAO: It would be nice if Landrover put out an update to be able to adjust the settings permanently like RHO. It takes waaay too long navigating to that section every single startup. One pro to Defender, is updates are far more frequent, and screens navigate much faster than Uconnect.

Can't lie...Ours is a mall crawler.. 22" wheels and all. It is my wifes DD, so I really only drive it to the gas station and the car wash. Have to admit, the driving position and visibility in that vehicle is second to none!

Yeah, I loved a LOT about it. The stuff I hated, I hated in a way I couldn't get past though. I also had concerns about longevity. Wife loved it, and I'd prob do a lease but she'd destroy those huge wheels with only that g-string of rubber on em

I get it about the wheels....Especially when ya throw a set of 1.25" spacers behind them...Because it has to look just right!
