What's new

Completed my “post delivery detail” detail yesterday…

Love the Adam’s Advanced Graphine spray. They sell it as a kit that includes an applicator pad & polishing towels. About $50+/-, and you can do 2 pickups & still have product leftover. Tip: Order extra applicator pads & polishing towels. You’ll thank me later.

Just reminder…Graphine is not a polish or conditioner. Graphine seals in the shine. It doesn’t create it.
What products do you like to condition or create more shine? I’ve been reading of people using spray wax on coatings to bring some warmth and gloss with the carmine on top of the coating

I’ve only tried glaze over the Graphine. It tends to fill super light scuffs/spider webs. Down side, it comes off with next rain or wash.

The gloss should come from prep. If a vehicle is factory fresh & not washed at the dealer, there should be very little prep beyond cleaning, clay bar (if needed), and polishing any light scuffs. Gentle wash is critical before Graphine is applied. Use lots of ultra soft MF towels and lots of wash solution. Use a rolling motion with your hand as you wipe across each panel…this give you a consistent clean leading edge on the towel, so you are not dragging gritty dirt across the clearcoat.

Some will argue you need an iron remover solution, since most of these trucks are transported by rail. It makes sense until you realize our cars “bathe” in iron dust every time we ride down the highway (it comes from everyone’s brake rotors). I did iron decontamination once on a new Vette back in ‘15. Wasn’t worth the extra step in the long run. If I see big rusty iron globs on the paint, I’d do it again, but that’s my only use case.
