Electronic safety systems unavailable, limited functionality…service required

Thanks for the info. I’ll be picking up my truck in Idaho in mid January and making a 1000 mile trek to San Diego with it. I am nervous about having the error messages, but I guess as long as the issues aren’t more severe, it isn’t that bad. Glad that it wasn’t anything that stranded you!
Let us know how your journey goes. I'm in SD too, good luck.

I have said this before myself. My trx acted woncky when i first got it. All the fuses were not seated or pushed all the way in. Once i went through and made them all secure was a dream no more wierd issues.
Checked mine today…all well-seated in their respective sockets.

Thanks for the idea…one never knows when that issue will arise again for someone.

Just got word…my truck is ready, but not fixed.

The tech got with an engineer at Ram & this is a known issue affecting RHO (they would not say how many, but mine is not an isolated case) & they do NOT have a fix. I will be notified when a software patch is available.

Not happy, but I can turn the features off, so I’m not bothered by fault alerts.

Honestly, I think they have bigger fish to fry with other more serious issues. I was told by an internal party that “They really pushed these things out.”

Now kinda wishing I’d waited on RHO. Well, hopefully I don’t suffer a loss that could have been prevented by the safety system. Time will tell. Drive carefully folks!
At least they are saying its a know issue so they can get this worked out.

On the plus side, my service advisor was spectacular. That’s a strong word, but I mean it. He knows I’m a “car guy” who cares for his vehicles on a different level than the general public. When I pulled up & we finished discussing the issue, he cleared out the other cars in the service drive & immediately took my vehicle to the employee parking area, where it would be safe. When I picked the vehicle up, he made sure I knew it was locked & secured from public tampering.

THAT made me happy! The rest is inconvenient, but the dealership has absolutely no control over it.

Man what a dramatic circus this is for you and several others, it’s insane to me. Sure hope these issues get resolved quickly for everyone.

He did mention a service bulletin for the misfires was released 3 weeks from their 1st case (I think we’ve seen that one…wiring harness damage)…he seemed hopeful the software fix for the safety systems could be available in as few a 7 days.

Service light brought me here, popped up after 465 miles. Bummer there’s no fix yet. Oh well, hands free driving was good while it lasted….

Any updates on this? really hoping RAM figures this out and starts pushing updates. I have had a few lights pop on and off over the last month of ownership. Foward collision was one, AEB was another. All seem to go away but these trucks have been out for several months now and it still seems there are no fixes. I am not going to lie, I am getting closer and closer to selling the truck and getting into a different manufacturer. As much as I love this truck, it might be my favorite vehicle to date, I can't be living in a constant state of "what is going to go wrong with it today!?" Also a bit concerned there are no real answers yet from RAM.

Seems Ram Engineering is now pointing a finger at the computer modules. Software update didn’t get created…likely was never the problem. Now, the dealer will be instructed to tear out the interior of your truck to find one or more of the 70 computer modules that aren’t communicating properly with each other. Yes, I wish I was making this up.

Mine was OK for about 800 miles. Would light up like every 3rd trip. At 2000 miles, the faults became constant, like 12x just driving across town. That was when I knew it wasn’t software.

If you can find a good alternative, let us know before RHO loses more trade-in value.

I checked out a 2025 Ford F-250 Tremor yesterday. That Godzilla motor with a surprisingly well-tuned 10-speed auto was dreamy compared with the Hurricane I6, though I suppose it all depends on your preference. You can actually drive it in 2WD, which is nice. And, it has a limited slip front differential for serious off-roading. BUT…Seats were a NO GO for my 6’ 2” frame (you’d be OK up to 5’ 10”) & the interior felt pretty cheap compared with RHO. The steering was wooden (normal for a live front axle with ancient steering tech) & brakes spongy, so it’s not in my garage right now.
lol I just realized I am barraging you with questions on two separate threads. This is wild to me with RAM blaming the modules now. How can this be cost effective for them to have to now tear apart the truck to access all the electronics. At what point is it actually the modules themselves vs the wiring, vs the software, etc. and how do they know this given all the issues we are seeing.

I don't know what to do at this point. I do know that if I trade this truck in I will likely not be able to get something equivalent, like a raptor, as I will get boned on trade-in (and I financed about $35k so I still have that which will chew up most of the trade-in).

It really is a terrible situation because the longer things go on, the more everyone will know the new ram trucks are having more issues which kills trade-in (and from what I have read RAM doesn't seem to hold its value compared to other truck brands).

Less than 500 miles and mine has been in the shop for a week now. Blind spot monitors on both mirrors were on and would not ever turn off and got the dash message that says to take in for service. After a week and Ram sending someone to look at mine, they decided it's the modules and they have new ones on order.

It was also in for CEL P2AF6 - Starter Relay "C" Stuck Off which they are telling me is a low voltage issue and they are replacing both batteries.

Sounds familiar.

If one or more of the modules are not getting good signals, they “wake-up” continuously & kill the batteries.

After toying with different “fixes” at 2 Ram service departments, including programming revisions & new modules, my truck’s safety system issues actually got worse.

Ram engineering told the dealer to order a new camera (the one that mounts above the rear view mirror), as the signal from that device to a decision module was corrupted. Since the part was not readily available, that prompted a brilliant tech to look for a reason the module was not getting a good signal from the front camera. He found a loose communications cable. Tightened the connection & all the faults went away.

I’ve been told by a Ram employee that our 2025 Ram 1500 trucks have a Fiat based electrical system. I’ve also been advised by a Ram dealer that my truck may randomly not start after being parked, due to waking modules killing the batteries. All very reassuring.

Great on your service tech, but I do not want to play the "will my battery be dead" game every day or event when I'm away...Hopefully this all builds towards finding fixes though!

knock on wood but my truck had these exact faults while in final inspection at the factory. Sat there for months and they test drove it many times and were apprently trying to alleviate the issue or waiting for engineering to find a fix. Long story short they finally fixed it, truck has perfect health and zero codes. about to arrive soon. Im hoping they have addressed this.
