Favorite Carplay Apps

I've really grown to like the infotainment system in the TRX, it's by far my favorite of any vehicle that I've owned. I recently bought MyRadar, which features a real-time weather radar that works great with CarPlay. If there is any weather around, we have this going so we can feel like storm chasers. What other carplay apps are worth checking out?

Yo.. that app is awesome, and I downloaded it immediately. Thanks for sharing that one @Nitro. I've got no suggestions, in fact I'm interested in what everyone else has to say. This will be the first vehicle I will own that has had up-to-date technology. Had to put the foot down, with the wife and say we're not skimping out on the tech this time.

Every vehicle I've ever owned in the past has always been way behind the tech curve. When CD's were a thing, my SUV only had a tape deck. When I got a truck with a CD player, everybody had an AUX port and was listening to iPods and such. God only knows what I would do for Bluetooth. All I'm saying is a 14-inch screen and apps and CarPlay has already blown my mind.

Shot-out to those who also know my pain and keep those suggestions coming.

Nice find. Looks like there are a lot of subscription levels on that app. Which one did you purchase in order to get live radar?

I went with the $3.99/month subscription. The radar on the phone is real time, however I noticed the refresh rate on the carplay map appears to be every few minutes. It would be even better if you could adjust that setting. Carplay support came out in January so hopefully we'll continue to see improvements in the future.

I wish Garmin would just make a driving/navigation app that would work with Apple CarPlay. Their dashboard portable displays are great because you can have weather show on your route.

That looks like a great app...


..but I live in the High Desert of Southern California, so It would be a waste of $ for me...

Our weather is easy:

Yearly, we have about:
35 Days of Clouds, Rain, and rarely, Snow
120 Days of Sun... (<90°)
110 Days of Damn, More Sun (90°-110°)
100 Days of WTF, my brain is melting Sun!! (110°+) (I've experienced 121°)
