So ready to get off this cluster f*** train. Buying another truck next week and waiting for my deposit to quit being held hostage. I don't fault the dealer, this is 100% Ram's fault, but no one is wanting to help the customer in this situation.
Ok, here are my two cents on the matter. Just weighing in on my experience so far, and honestly, I've got some concerns. Although I appreciate the significant discount MD offered, but from a customer service perspective, I do have some dissatisfaction towards MD on this whole ordeal.
Like many of us who ordered early in the process, early May myself, many of us have been stuck in D status while it seems like more recent orders are speeding right along (same specs, same dealer/different dealer). Knowing this, it's hard not to feel a little sidelined. We all get that this is Ram's BS, but from where I'm standing, it feels like the dealership could be doing more on this matter.
Here's the thing, there's been radio silence from MD since July 12th. At least that is the last email I received from them. I get that they are active on this forum, which is great for those of us who are too, but what about those who aren't? We're talking about an $80,000 purchase that's been up in the air with no updates since mid-summer, and the expectation was to have the truck by Q3/Q4 this year.
Meanwhile, orders identical to ours placed more recently are already out the door. It feels like we're just stuck here without options, unable to reorder without forking over another deposit due to Ram's mess-up, which, by the way, isn't the dealer's fault, but it feels like there could be more effort to find a workaround for those of us caught in this.
With incentives potentially dropping off soon and our deposits still tied up, we're missing out on potentially $4,000 in savings. That's a tough pill to swallow, especially when our trucks might arrive over 8 months from the order date without any of those savings.
I'm hoping someone from MD sees this and maybe can pass it along to the higher-ups. Perhaps allowing customers to place a second order without an additional deposit, or maybe release the deposits for those of us with early orders from April/May stuck in D status? Even going to RAM and requesting if a cancellation can be an option, while it might be wishful thinking, shouldn't be off the table given the circumstances.
At the end of the day, MD doesn't have to do anything different. I know a contract is a contract. But I'm sure folks who are impacted would appreciate an email update. Any info is better than none, especially with this much money on the line.
