Off Road Running boards

I had no clue that was an option.
Yep. It's a safety feature, so the steps don't eat your young children. But it works on all vehicles with folding steps.

Just asked the below question on Koons order post, if anyone else who ordered with them is interested….more interest may help.

“Any chance you can work out a special with parts and service to sell and install the power running boards on RHO orders for anyone interested? (Mopar part #82215287AH)”

It was a toss up. There was an Amp sale (with a rebate gift card) just before the holidays one year, so I went with Amp. That said, here are a few thoughts on the differences.

With the Mopar steps, you could use AlfaOBD to enable them in Uconnect, so that you could stow/deploy them from the screen. Not sure if/when AlfaOBD will work on the RHO, though. Amp steps, on the other hand, do not have that capability. The steps I bought are the “Smart Series”, which has an app (via Bluetooth) to remotely stow/deploy them. So there’s similar functionality, I guess. But I found it to be nothing more than a novelty at best. I’ve never found the need to manually operate them. Whenever I park and want the steps to stay out, I just keep my foot on the step to tell it to stay down. So in my mind, there’s no appreciable difference between the two.
I’ve never had Mopar steps, so I don’t know if they operate as a pair or independently. Amp steps are independent. So when I open the driver side door, only the left step deploys. My wife has a Lincoln Navigator, and both sides operate together. Seems like needless cycling if only one side is actually being used at any given time.

Great info.

One thing for everyone to remember, regardless of whether you are going AMP or OEM, the boards that work on pre-2025 models may not work on a 2025, due to revised electrical architecture.

I was leaning toward the OEM, hoping they would have the electrical revisions considered in the latest design & for the UConnect compatibility. But, in reading Eighty’s post, I’m not so worried about UConnect compatibility anymore. I’d really like the twin motor AMP Extreme over the OEM single motor design.

When I ordered my Raptor I didn’t like the idea of them. Before the first week was done they had become one of my favorite features. Not a single door dent still to this day. I ordered them on our RHO.
