PICKING UP MY RHO FRIDAY MORNING

Thanks for letting me in. I am picking up my new RHO in Cedar Rapids Friday morning and driving home to Erir Pa. To be honest with all that I have read I am scared to death. I can't believe that I am spending 80k on a brand new vehicle and afraid to make a short road trip home because of all that i have read especially the battery issues. Please give me your thoughts and any advise you might have. Hopefully I am worried about nothing and most RHO's run fine.

You'll be ok reading online makes people worry but check it all over when picking it up. Mines stuck as built for 6 weeks and no updates or answers from anyone... I'm worried too but I've had my current ram for 11 years and no problems so I'm gonna just go into it with a positive attitude ha

4k miles and zero issues outside of a loose fender flare. Check everything before driving off the lot, fuses, wires, paint, etc. Keep it tame until atleast 500 miles and youll be fine. If something does come up, take it to the shop under warranty. I love this truck!

More have no problems compared to the ones that do. Had ours since end of December, 1700 miles and no issues(outside of quality control). There's a checklist on this site I would print off and bring with you.

Look at the truck from TOP to BOTTOM inside and out. Get in the bed and examine the roof etc. Dont leave a stone unturned

Then enjoy!!

I just asked my sales guy if I could have some time going through it by myself for a while and probably spent an hour or so just looking through everything and checking functions. Then went for a test drive by myself to make sure I didn't hear any weird noises before I closed on paperwork. Mine has been great so far, really enjoying the truck.

Read the manual, specifically the section on “break-in”. Don’t have it in front of me, but it goes something like, “drive conservatively for the 1st 80 miles…no full throttle, do not exceed 55mph”. After 80 miles, “recommend full-throttle at speed for a few seconds at a time to seat the rings, but no full throttle starts.”

Remember, this engine has plasma spray bore cylinder liners, so the cylinder walls don’t really wear-in. The speed & load limits during the 1st 80 miles is to give the gears & main bearings a good start to life. For the remainder to 300 miles, full-throttle turbo boost at speed does a great job of forcing the rings into the hard cylinder walls.

Made the trip trouble free. What a great truck. So comfortable and a pleasure to drive. Everything worked perfectly. 10 miles per gallon the first 100 miles. After 700 miles went to 14.5 at 75mph no wind.

How do you keep it at 55mph if you have to drive it home for a good distance from a dealer and have alot of highway driving?

At 55mph, you will cover the 1st 80 miles in about 1.5 hours. Since most trucks are delivered with 20+miles, you’ll have it covered in about an hour.

Not a huge deal. Just stay in the right lane.

For what its worth I drove mine 500 miles back home from Lake Charles with no issues whatsoever. I now have 1500 miles on it and everything works to perfection. I would not worry about issues until you have one which have faith you will not.

If you have the 3 usb connection points behind the ram wireless charger don’t plug in anything to the one that has the lightning bolt and leave plugged in it drains the battery. This port is always on always disconnect the cable . Had my dash cam plugged it n and it drained the battery within 8 hrs

Just got word. Mine was due in on the 15th. It arrived today, picking up Saturday morning
