PPF vs Ceramic Coating

I’ve applied ceramic coating to all of my vehicles for years and it is something that can be done by a non-professional in your garage. It takes me a full weekend to do clay bar, decontamination, 2-step polish, and apply multiple coats. Many videos online to show suit how. It’s worth the effort and cost if you keep your car garaged or covered. It won’t last as long as advertised if you leave outside all the time.
I’ve also had ppf on one of my cars. I tried to do that myself after watching a lot of videos and failed miserably. I spent 50 hours over 3 weekends trying to get a good result and couldn’t manage it. I ended up paying for the removal of my ppf when I finally paid a professional. They don’t remove any parts of the car except badging to apply ppf unless you choose a stealth ppf. For a stealth ppf or vinyl wrap they should remove certain pieces to make sure there are no gaps in coverage.

That looks great! Can’t wait to see the finished pics.
One question: did they remove the small matte decal in front of the hood scoop and apply a new one over the PPF? Or leave it on and cover over it?
I’m having another one placed over the PPF.

I thought so. I had the clear PPF placed on my hood, and they also recommend removing the decal. They were concerned about how the PPF would adhere to it, and also that the gloss PPF would cause the matte decal to lose some of the contrast between the matte and gloss.

You can also change the look of the truck, which is why I’m opting for a stealth ppf. I think forged blue in matte will look amazing.
I want to see that!!

Wonder if this is really a concern. I had already planned on doing Full Front PPF while also having the good decal added right before the PPF work.

Ask your detailer what they recommended. If they can do the PPF first, then add the decal, you can take it off or replace it if you get tired of it without affecting the PPF.

Opinions on these two different offerings? Truck will live outside.
