Ram RHO Level 1 Package Details

About to place a order and heavily debating if the level 1 is worth it to me. Ventilated seats rarely get used in Montana but very nice to have when we go to the desert a few times per year! The 14" screen, passenger screen, seat memory, massage is all great but not a requirement. Tough call.
I agree, but it does make good for resell. I opted for the packages because of the 360° cameras and few other features that'd help while driving. Especially since my vertically challenged wife will also be driving it.

But I'm heavily debating on removing it so I can get it sooner.

I work in Montana frequently. Sold my raptor with ventilated areas last week to fund my RHO. Ended up going with the level 1 package. The more I think about it, the happier I am with that decision.

Right there with you. Only real reason I want lv 1 is so I can get the pano. But I am heavily debating if the pano is worth 12k…….. crazy

Well if you were to get a discount like the one offered by Mark Dodge, then the discount itself would offset the level 1 package. That's how I see it.

It is weird that the sunroof requires L1, but it likely is for better parts planning, it reduces the number of possible combinations.

Since this will be my daily, L1 was an easy choice.
1. 360 cameras are amazing on a trail, but critical when trying to get such a wide truck in a parking garage
2. Heated / Ventilated / massaging seats make sitting in traffic so much better
3. Alot of the major highways around Austin are on the map for hands free driving, so again bonus for traffic.
4. In a few years I would have started hunting down all of the factory carbon fiber bits to upgrade the interior anyways, it saves me the trouble.

L1 All Day. If I didn't get it, I'd be miserable and I think like the people who got TRX without the goodies, many are gonna kick themselves after a month or a day of ownership. Everyone's mileage will vary but here are key necessities for me along with real word explanations.

Dual Charging Pad - Had a Defender 130 and wife kept kicking my phone out (and sneaky like a ninja). I'd also have opted for an ejection seat if they had offered it.
Level 2 Driving - Just super handy to be able to have a conversation or deal with kids, and dog on longer trips or take a phone call and have some safer assistance than my knee (though my knee has been reliable to this point).
Heated and Ventilated Seats - Live in AZ, so this should be self-explanatory.
Surround Camera - Beyond helpful for parking and off-roading. Having used this previously, there is no going back.
Bigger Screen - It's the difference between a phone and a tablet, if I had never been spoiled then I wouldn't care but again, no going back (especially useful for off-roading).
Passenger screen - This will give my wife something to do instead of always messing with my screen (at least that's how it plays out in my dreams). Reality might be a tough pill to swallow. Again, see ejection seat above.
Better stereo - I like my jams, and don't see myself going to trouble of mucking with aftermarket systems anymore. If you only like angry talk radio then probably don't need the larger echo chamber.
Seat and Mirror Memory - I like my seat and mirrors laser dialed in and if my wife steals my key and trades me vehicles for a day, it takes me too long to get it back to even close to as solid and wreaks havoc on blood pressure.
Power Tailgate - Who cares? My kids do and it's a great way for them to be "helpful" after a trip to Home Depot or lumber yard.
Heads up Display - Again, it's nice but kids love it.
Drowsy Driver Detection - LOVE this and probably NEED it. Wish I could say it hasn't happened to me, but rumble strips have saved my bacon more than once. I blame the kids; they drain my batteries like a vehicle with headlights left on and door open.
Alternator - No clue what comes with it but since it listed alternator I'm guessing this one is bigger and bigger is more better for the juice.

Hope that helps someone

I'm assume they went with a larger alternator because they thought people would be running off-road pod lights and light bars and air compressors.

The MARK DODGE discount made level 1 possible for me.. they are basically paying for my level 1 is the way I see it! This is going to be the nicest vehicle I have ever owned -- are all those extras necessary? Probably not ... but this will be my daily driver for 5 years and Ii am telling you now.. things like ventilated seats (in florida), pano sun roof, insane stereo, driver assist tools for long road trips, and 360 cameras are going to be SO NICE!! Even if it means I have to wait a little longer to get the truck... just think about it... you would have to pay close to $95k for a raptor (with less power) with similar specs (before ford stealership markups!).. and we are getting that for 75k (thank you MARK DODGE lol)!

I somewhat agree. The suspension on the Raptor had a decade of R&D in it, so it's much better than the RHO. This is RAMs 2nd(?) attempt at fighting the Raptor, but we'll see how it goes now that they've gotten a couple of years of R&D from the TRX.

I went w/ the L1. I have similar features in the car, drive assist, park assist, follow radar, HUD, etc. I love that stuff.

The upgraded stereo is not much of an upgrade in sound quality. Demo both stereos back to back & you will see what I mean. If anything, the upgrade creates a more “boomy” bass sound. And not a good boomy. Neither are audiophile grade. For that, you still need to go aftermarket. Some folks on the TRX board have gone that route & have great ideas.

I love the CF upgrade & surround cameras are nice. Though for parking, the resolution does not allow much precision, like getting within an inch of a side curb to minimize door ding risks. For that, you’ll still need your trusty mirrors.

Self-driving. Meh. Heard about some glitches on a YouTube video. I’m sure it will be fine. Not my thing. Radar cruise does enough for me in light traffic on the highway.

So, I skipped Level 1 & saved $10K. I know folks say it’s “free” if you get a forum dealer discount, but a discount still applies without Level 1 (maybe $1K less discount due to lower MSRP). So, you ARE paying for it.

Now, I hope I can upgrade my CHMSL to LED for less than $10K….HA!

Level 1 was a definite for me given the ties to pano sunroof, interior accent package, larger screen, upgraded seats, trailer cams, etc. But I can see why some people will not want it given the cost.

i think it’s a bargain at $10k. In my case, I was planning to purchase a Limited. That L1 package brings it up to a close match with the Limited feature-wise and I’m still spending a couple thousand less than the Limited I built. Plus, this will be the first truck I’ve bought in years where I don’t immediately install a lift and 35” tires. That’s a $5k savings in itself 😀

Same situation here. I originally ordered a Tungsten and with the MD discount it was $81k, not including another $1k incentive RAM offered. My RHO build with the L1 and other options set it $78k, while it may not be as luxurious as the Tungsten. The lvl 1 group will have a nice interior along with a highly capable truck. Those mall parking lots won't stand a chance now on my 35s.
