RHO Insurance Costs VS. TRX w/ Hellcat

I'm in Ohio, never had a TRX, but my RHO came in at $1645 per year ($354 more per year than my outgoing 2020 Rebel, for reference). American Family Insurance

Someone who already has the truck could tell you how much they pay for insurance on their truck, preferably in the state of Texas. I just got a quote from State Farm and they are giving me 165 per month. I'm curious to know if it's a good price or if I should keep looking for options.

Sounds fair to me.

Insurance rates will be based on several things :

-age
-how long you've had drivers license
-where vehicle where be garaged
-commute either for work or personal time
-miles driven per year
-driving record
-and beleive or not...CREDIT SCORE

If you live in densely populated area that could negativity affect your rate. More drivers on the road, means bigger risk.
Funny you mention credit score. It’s not allowed to be used in some states & many states won’t allow it to be used as a primary rating factor.

BUT, it is incredibly predictive of loss severity & frequency. The higher the credit score, the lower the loss severity & frequency. As a matter of fact, if the law allowed, you could profitably run an automobile insurance company using credit score as your sole rate determination factor. It’s been proven with post loss data.

Think about it…a person who is diligent about paying their bills on time & not being reckless with their use of credit, will also drive with care & take care of their asset (car/truck). It’s not an exact science, as there will always be “exceptions to the rule”. But, that’s to be expected in the insurance world.

Sounds fair to me.
Thank you very much for your opinion. I live in Houston and my truck arrives the first week of the year. I don't want to rush into something that in the long run could save me a few hundred dollars a year.
