Got 1800 miles on my RHO. Figured I had found all the factory defects…then, this(see photo). WTH. It was fine this morning. Got into it after breakfast & see the loose thread.

Was it tucked behind some other stitches & suddenly came loose? IDK.

Ideas? Can I fix it without a trip to the dealership?

Yup and hence the problems with unions and automakers.

In places without unions they have better workers. It’s been highly documented with the Stelantis crew getting high and drinking on break, yet those careful caring employees can’t be fired.

Why do you think all the import companies went to states without auto unions and people needing jobs.

Yet the unions are trying to get into them and will slowly ruin them too. The unions are good for one group of people. The people who run the unions.

makes alot of sense with how these trucks have been produced. Probably why my truck has sat at inspection for a month, they probably fucked something up larger than life.

Head to one of the many old folks communities in our fine state and ask any woman in her twilight years. I bet she can pull a needle out of her hair and have you right as rain in no time. ;)

Find yourself a decent automotive
Upholstery shop they should be able to tighten you up

I know some of my RHO family members aren't close to a dealership...

...my local service center is 9 miles from home.

For the $$$$$ I dropped on this truck and the warranty, I'll be bringing it to the service center for EVERYTHING I can!

I guess am adding sewing kit on my bucket list.

I would probably just a lighter or some sort of glue.. I don't think the dealer will replace it for you.

Update: Dealer ordered new steering wheel…no ETA, so likely back-ordered.

This is one of the reasons I’m happy I bought local. Even if Ram does not cover it, my dealer will be sure it’s replaced, no cost to me.

Awesome! Glad they are taking good care of you.

I love it when a dealer treats its customers right!

We should shout out these good dealers. I feel like we do a good job of saying who to avoid, but knowing who to give our business to is probably even more important.

Thats why I bought Mark Dodge, even if RAM doesn't cover it, @AnthonyRI and/or their warranty should be able to lend a hand. If not, I'll just take a jar of coins to a fountain and let the universe sort it for me.

Here’s what I will say/disclose…it’s more about the people and the relationship you build with those people than it is about the dealership, in 99.9% of situations. Stick with those who listen & seek ways to resolve your needs/concerns. Treat them with respect & humility. Finally, thoughtfully reward those folks, when given the opportunity.

Cautionary Tale…I really do appreciate your perspective on things. And yes, I have heard great things about Anthony & his crew at MD.

Well said, and couldn't agree more.
