Scottie -
You will still see the metallic through the clear. It will just be matte. Ask me how I know.My PPF guy recommended doing a matte clear over the black, it should have the same effect and is a little cheaper than doing the black vinyl.
"How do you know Scottie"....You will still see the metallic through the clear. It will just be matte. Ask me how I know.
I believe it was roughly $300. An Xpel shop installed it along with PPF on the front. If you don't mind, would you please share what this cost to have done?
Because the shop that did the satin black did the drivers door in matte clear first, then FaceTimed me before doing the entire side. I could see the metallic flake coming thru, which I wasn’t a fan of. Thus satin black went on."How do you know Scottie"....
That’s good to know, I will likely go that route then.Because the shop that did the satin black did the drivers door in matte clear first, then FaceTimed me before doing the entire side. I could see the metallic flake coming thru, which I wasn’t a fan of. Thus satin black went on.
Did he charge you the same thing for the matte black as the clear would have been? My quote went up 3x because apparently the colored films are much more. He uses Stek PPF.Because the shop that did the satin black did the drivers door in matte clear first, then FaceTimed me before doing the entire side. Mine was less expensive because he was using a matte PPF clear. The vinyl is about half the thickness of PPF and he had a ton of it.Did he charge you the same thing for the matte black as the clear would have been?
