I totally respect the accountant point of view. But, money is only a small part of life. You can't put a price on your health or your quality of life. One of my former business partners had a shit ton of money. Always bragged about how he lived so far below his means and how he didn't even need to work (not fully sure why he continued to do so, but he did).
Anyway, he got cancer, finally retired and died 18 months later. A shit ton of money he had for sure. He regretted not enjoying the money he worked for and enjoying his life more.
I'm certainly not trying to give financial advice, or even life advice. I don't advocate living beyond your means. I agree that far too many folks indeed live beyond their means. But my business parter always saved for a rainy day he never had a chance to see. Money is simply a vehicle for your quality of life. You work hard for your money so you can buy the things in life that you enjoy. Life's too short to buy things that you won't enjoy.
Note: not a Corvette guy, but if I were, I'm the type who would've bought the Z06 over the Z51, even if it meant I had to wait another year to save for it. I'd wait and buy the one I really want rather settle and always be thinking about the one I wish I bought. But that's just my personality. YMMV
This truck is my daily driver, and I literally smile every time I get in it. It makes me happy!! I say go for it!
