I'm curious whether anyone is seeing/hearing about RHO thefts. I wasn't fully "tuned in" to the magnitude of the issue until I bought my TRX. Since the trucks look nearly identical (especially at night - not that anyone cares when they steal them), it doesn't seem like a thief would know the difference until they were already in the vehicle and had it started.

In terms of my experience, I bought a 2023 TRX Lunar Edition from a Mercedes / Audi dealership in Ohio. I arrived at the dealership last Saturday morning a few minutes before they opened and naturally walked around the lot looking for my truck. When my sales guy got there I asked him where my truck was. He said "Oh - we have to keep that one inisde at night, block it in with other vehicles and pull a couple of fuses to keep it from getting stolen." WTF. They had new 200k G wagons sitting out on the lot but but they barricade the used Ram truck in with Mercedes and Audis so they won't steal the Ram. Gotta say - that was an eye-opening convo to start my ownership experience!

I took a crash course in IGLAs and have my install scheduled for next week. And this in Toledo Ohio - not LA, Dallas or Houston! Wow!

Again, I've been following this board for months and haven't seen a lot of discussion about it. If you go over to the TRX forum, it seems like you just plan on having an IGLA intsall as part of the vehicle purchase.

Thiefs target Chargers/Challengers with the regular Hemi, meaning the engine doesn't seem to matter much when they want to steal them.

I don't know how many RHO's have IGLA, but I hope everyone gets one installed to stop it before it's widespread

I haven’t heard but one “sketchy” report that one was stolen. But nothing widespread like the TRX and Hellcats. Those engines are in high demand.

I guarantee, our engines will bring zero value to the thrives. There isn’t a great rate of return from what I understand at the moment except for the beadlocks.

imagine trying to swap a hurricane that barely runs in its original body. LOL

They are a GREAT engine, it just seems the assembly and QC is lacking. They put a stock hurricane engine in a D100 I think, and it was doing crazy 1/4 mile times.

I get that the engines aren't as desirable - but the point I was trying to make is that they look exactly the same. Not all TRX's have the stickers on the rear quarters or the hood graphic - nor do RHOs. Once you have broken into the vehicle, copied the key, etc. why not go ahead and drive off with it? Maybe the the thieves are smart enough to crawl under the vehicle to look at the exhaust or know that a the center touchpad is 2" taller in most RHOs?? I dunno . . .

I've still yet to meet a single person in real life that has had a theft attempt on any vehicle.

I am glad I don't live in one of the hellscapes some of you seem to describe.

It's basically the major urban centers that are near ports and/or borders.

Cars there are boosted and then gone.

LA, Houston, Chicago, DC, NYC, etc. The usual suspects.

And Toledo, OH!! On a more serious note, I never thought about the dealership's "lens". If you put a TRX online, you are advertising to the free world "here is an address where you can steal a TRX - and I will give you mileage, options, THE VIN and great pics of it before you choose which one you want to steal". Lambs to the slaughter . . .

That's so true, no wonder they boxed in your TRX with g-wagons LOL! Is Toledo that bad? never been, just know most cities outside Montana are hot spots for scum and thievery.

I don't live there, but used to be really high for child trafficking . . .

Ohio guy here. Toledo is a dump, but not necessarily a high crime spot. Nothing like Chicago or LA. But it's not too far from Detroit. LOL

My wife leaves her key fob in her Cadillac 24/7 lol... I'm still waiting for the rho but my 2014 ram I would never and definitely not rho later. Luckily where I'm at theft is super low and park in a heated garage so I'm not worried on the truck or center screen.
