What's new

Things I don’t like. After 400 miles.

I've grown very used to Auto hold on the raptor... here's hoping tazer gets the 25' out fast

A lot of great things to say about the truck but definitely a few things I that are bothering me already.

1. No auto hold. I’ve had numerous vehicles with an auto hold function when stopping. I’m used to taking my foot off the brake at every stop light. Is this a truck thing? To omit an auto hold?

2. No rear view camera lane markers in reverse. Lot of great cameras angles but this truck is so big. Makes it challenging to park. I’ve always found lane markers useful in my previous vehicles.

3. I’m coming from a bmw 330 and we also have an x5 with the b58 inline 6 twin turbo.
I know a lot of people have compared these engines but this ram inline 6 is definitely not as refined as the bmw. Overall very smooth but few instances of a little jerkiness in lower gears.

4. And my biggest gripe: the font is too small!
In Apple CarPlay in order to switch between maps and Spotify icons it’s almost impossible. The time display on the center screen is tiny. The speed limit display on the main navigation screen is almost indistinguishable. Please someone tell me there is an option to make the font bigger or else I need some glasses.

Otherwise it’s a really nice truck 👍
There are reverse camera lane markings... might need to check your settings under camera. Haven't messed with the font but i don't have any problems with Waze

I'm sure I will catch hell, but did you find out whether the auto hold setting can be changed? I'm in a Nissan Titan (my second one) now and have an RHO on order. Not that it would change my mind . . . but once you get used to this it's pretty nice . . .

Sorry I cannot find that feature anywhere.
I am not sure it exists, unless someone can help us out here.

What is auto hold? I can go check but need to know what that function is

There is no such function on Rams

When you are on a hill - regardless of whether on or off road - it holds the vehicle from rolling back when you let off the brake. Basically avoids the need to "two foot" the pedals.

Usually in the settings via the radio. I believe my Durango has it and my old 19 Ram 1500 had it. Its not like my sons explorer where it will hold the brake while going through drive throughs until you press the accelerator pedal again. Ram/Durango feature will prevent you from rolling backwards down a hill with foot off the brake.

I believe Jeep refers to this as "Hill Hold". I'd look for that to see if the feature is offered

the truck has the hill assist, it's at least my lvl 1 does, its a setting that can be turned on or off
