If you guys remember, my check engine light came on last week and it ended up being a small coolant hose that would pop off and made the truck idle really rough and a code reader showed that every cylinder had a misfire.

On Sunday while giving a buddy of mine a test drive, after a good 5-6 hard pulls the same hose popped right off and the motor started acting the same way and threw a flashing CEL. I already saw it had been the same hose as last week so I ordered new stainless clamps from Amazon and received them today.

After installing the hose clamp on that aforementioned hose, a gave the truck around 6-7 hard pulls and sure enough, I heard a popping sound and the motor started idling rough. I popped the hood open to see if it was the same hose which I clamped, it wasn’t. But it was another hose that had popped off.

Is anyone AT ALL having issues when gunning the truck and having these stupid hoses come off? I feel like I shouldn’t have to be buying aftermarket clamps to secure them and haven’t read anything online if others having this issue.

I’m not sure why this hose came off (pictured below) but after 6-7 good pulls, it popped off. Once I plugged it back in, motor was good to go and CEL came off.

WHAT CAN I DO?! Help please. It’s such a minor issue but it’s absurd and it’s getting really annoying. I can’t enjoy my truck and it’s BONE STOCK. I’m going to install my diablosport once I have figured out all these damn hoses from popping off

Seems crazy to me to see that type of vacuum hose connector withstanding 25+psi.

can you post a picture of the clamp you bought to secure the hose? I am sure others will run into this and it might be useful info. Might even be worth doing preemptively.

I’ll ost a picture when I can after work but this is exactly what I ordered for now. I also ordered T bolt clamps but the smallest they offer was too big.

These are the ones I used for the smaller hose

Awesome. Thanks dude. I think I’m going to put together a little RHO survival kit haha. Maybe a few clamps like this, jumper cables, obd scanner, heavy duty zip ties and a small tool pack.

Someone needs to do the same thing for the GMC AT4X, except they need to include an extra L87 engine to keep from having to wait 6-8 weeks for one to maybe become available from GM when the rod bearings fail

Lol, I am not sure that will fit in my tool kit.

I think its a defective part imo. I run the Diablosport and don't have hoses popping off....at least not yet....damnit, I probably just jinxed myself. I hate this post already. 🤣

Man this sucks… I can’t seem to enjoy this shit on boost. One way or another the hoses keep popping off on boost. Not sure what the dealer can do at this point

What do you mean you're not sure what the dealer can do? They can figure it out or you can lemon it. This isn't a squeaky seat or something you just go "oh well I guess I'll learn to deal with it"

BTW, if anyone is thinking of using stainless hose clamps to secure those pipes…in a word…DON’T. They are molded, semi-hard plastic, including the barb section…they are not rubber hoses. If they come off, they need to be replaced. Ram may decide some adhesive is also needed in the future, but that’s up to their engineers. A hose clamp has the potential to crack & damage the hard tubing.

I appreciate it brother

I was looking at another thread and saw the following - wonder if it's related to the issue being discussed in this tread. Snippet below.....

Gotta be defective parts. I've seen countless videos of reviewers on YouTube beating on these trucks and not 1 mention of hoses popping off. Tell the dealer you would like all the hoses replaced because that's ridiculous honestly.
