App notifications while stuck in production

My truck was built on 02/17. I added it on the app 02/25.

It first popped up with location and telemetrics on 02/28, when someone finally started the engine, I'm guessing. It is sitting in a lot at the Toledo, OH rail yard.

Status still shows as built, but not yet shipped, even though it has clearly left the factory and is staged for (hopefully) follow-on transport soon.

Ram status updates do not make much sense, but that's nothing new. I went through this whole guessing game with my TRX in 2021 as well.

You guys are getting app notifications? lol. I noticed my truck on test drives a few times this week, but the "trips" have not listed anything new since 2/28

YEAH...20 miles of test drives!!!!:oops::unsure:

Just checked mine and it updated with a location in souther Michigan away from the plant so I’m assuming it’s been shipped! 10 miles on the odometer. Fun little game.
I think it updated after the truck is turned on for the first time after app activation.
How did you get it added to the app? I called Ram and they said they couldn’t do it

Serious question - if your truck is stuck in inspection, at what point do you say "enough is enough?" Here are my thoughts - One week - ok. Two weeks - at least their trying to get it right. Three weeks - what the h*ll could be wrong with it? One month - good lord, why am I paying full price for truck they can't build correctly? Over a month - do I really want that piece of sh*t?

Mine is at the Dealer. I think they've put close to 60 or more miles on it. lol
Put a speed alert on it if you can. I did that on one of my TRXs and one of the dealers employees had it out doing 90mph one night while it was there.

Valid question and feelings for sure! I've been going back and forth on this. I could get my deposit back right now and place another order or walk away and get a TRX. The issue with placing another order is who knows if it will be any faster or just get stuck at the same bottle neck.
I have no clue what on earth would take 2 months to fix...MD said if there was truly something wrong that RAM would issue a new vin and start a new build ......also said its likely just bottlenecked there but literally hundreds of trucks have flown past mine . major red flag and clearly something they cant get parts for or fix.
2 months later and apparently they (Ram) think mine is good to just sit at the factory forever. im seeing movement on the app but still have to make it past inspection, go to body vendor for weeks, then get shipped to MD via railcar then shipped to my house in MT. Maybe late spring delivery or summer. Sucks because i actually need the truck now that snow is melting. Whatever, thanks for listening to my morning rant. Love MD , Hate ram.

You should go to where the truck is if you can and demand to see someone :)

That's making the assumption that the time in inspection is actually due to them finding an issue(s) vs them just not looking at your truck or them forgetting to move it along.

We have to remember how bad Ram is at the rest of the production process, and we shouldn't assume that inspection is the one status where they're actually doing what they're supposed to.

What you and I consider "truly wrong" may differ from what Ram and the dealer thinks is "truly wrong." If it's no big deal, Ram should tell us. In the interest of transparency of course.

Tell us why then. Simple solution. Easy. Transparent.

I don't disagree. But they can't tell us why they're building January orders while April still sits. I'm just saying don't assume that inspection means active inspection. Ram is really bad at this whole thing.

Hmm wish i had the time haha. Would be hilarious to book a ticket to detroit from MT, show up at the factory where my truck is and say "hey MF im here, WTF , get to work" . I wonder if i start setting off the horn, alarm, etc from the app if they will get my truck the fuck out of that factory. LOL!! kidding of course...kind of....

My truck went from IN PRODUCTION to BUILT on 02/28. App has been showing it in a parking lot outside of SHAP (north of Detroit). Today it is showing that it is at Capital Trucking, Inc (south of Detroit). So I guess the shipping process has begun; though the tracker just shows BUILT...
Today, RAM app showing that my "BUILT" September order has moved from Capital Trucking, Inc to Autoport Michigan Limited, which looks like a rail yard...woohoo! Tracker still hasn't updated to "SHIPPED"; maybe it will once it's scanned & on train - fingers crossed!

Exactly :ROFLMAO:

Just to update everyone, my truck made it out of the factory at last and is sitting at advanced parking technologies on the michigan/ ohio border. Does anyone have a clue what this place is? I'm assuming a staging area for shipping via truck. No railways nearby. also funny they have a weird track there. My tracker still shows in production....LOL
