ive been using the app - left the NFC card in the house (not in the truck) and not had any battery issues .... I have wifi enabled for truck to connect to home wifi when in garage .... as far as Ram / FCA Wifi (mobile hotspot) .... I did not see any free offering, or trial activations - from everything I can tell you activate and pay month to month (or there is a slightly discounted price if you buy a full year) ... also note its 4G/LTE connectivity.
The other connected services have "trial" offers which last anywhere from 3 to 5 years
I deleted the app & none of my issues went away, so I’ve since reinstalled it and no new issues. Turns out my issues (safety system faults) are software related & Ram has no fix at this time.
I have had my truck since December 16 and have been using the app since day 1, No battery issues at all. We have had sub zero temps here for the last couple of weeks with the truck parked outside and only used a couple of times a week. Starts righ up everytime.
That's exactly what the problem is. I brought my truck home on Monday, left the key card in the center console overnight, woke up to a dead battery on Tuesday morning. It's the little things the dealers don't tell you about (or even know about), right?! All is well now that I figured it out. Hope this solves it for you, as well.
It crazy...app to literally do 5 things. I'm pretty sure my wifes Subaru app can control the damn climate control plus some other features and it's free.
Just wanted to give reminded check your fuses. When I picked up truck 30 minutes drive voltage went from. 14.xx to 12.9 getting home. Close to 10 fuses were not sitting all the way in. Ever since never seen voltage below 13.9 while driving.
Even before when I let go of accelerator I could get to 14 but the whole drive it would be dropping slowly.

App does quite a bit but yeah lots of different sub options to get various functionality I'd madness, as is the pricing for an already top tier offering.
I slept in truck in Texas a few times (purgatory drive) and it let me know when alarm went off, vehicle health, told me to take it to Dealer and had laundry list of faults found, app also let's you see fuel in it (super handy for those that don't pay attention to such things), tire pressure and on and on. Most of it should be free, only internet at cost makes sense, ESPECIALLY since their EULA basically explains they are selling every bit of data they mine to insurance companies (such bs), etc.
I don't love the double dip. If I don't subscribe I'll pop headliner and disconnect their access.
I noticed my battery voltage hovers around 13 - 13.2 with the occasional spike in the 14s. Most vehicles I've had are above 14. Curious if that's what everyone els is seeing on their RHO's. SO far no issues on mine.

This was mine when I woke up to a dead battery one day, would only go above 14v off throttle, once I pulled the key card put of the truck and put in new batteries I see 14.4 to 14.6 99% of the time

WOW! I found with stop start I dip into 12's and did get battery light twice (required two start up sequences) so I turn that off each time. Not sure how to disable it permanently

That’s interesting. I never have the key card in there. I took it out as soon as I got the truck home.
I find it very odd that it is so low.
It reminds me of something I had in my wife’s infinity. The voltage was always around that 13 to 13.5. Infinity has something that shuts the alternator off a couple minutes after starting and will turn on at certain times while you’re driving. Supposedly it’s supposed to help with the fuel economy, but it kills batteries like crazy. It’s a pretty known issue for infinity. Wonder if it’s something similar in these trucks.
