What's new

Electronic safety systems unavailable, limited functionality…service required

Starting to get lost with if the same 4 guys are commenting about everything going wrong on their new builds on every thread or if it’s actually a larger issue.

Tough to follow….
Might be a factor like drone sightings in nj.

I bought my 2025 Ram RHO about 3 weeks ago, about 570 miles. Tonight I got an Alert message to see dealer asap about Blind Spot Monitoring. The yellow triangles on my mirrors are staying lit. I have an appointment on 12/31/24 to figure out the issue. So far I LOVE this truck.
Sorry to hear of this issue. Seems like it’s happened to a few folks.

On other threads, some suggested I delete the Ram app, which apparently wakes up the ECU while it’s parked to collect data & drains the battery. I deleted the Ram app & fully charged my batteries. Made it 12 miles before getting IP repeated warnings about “forward collision warning limited functionality service required” & my blind spot triangles stayed illuminated.

Dealer told me it would need to be in service at least 4-days to attempt another fix. Apparently, that’s how long it takes Ram to respond to these technical issues.

Anyway, took my blue beast on a 180 mile trip yesterday & only saw the forward collision warning fault once & it was while driving down a dusty trail, so it might have been a legit warning.

So, did deleting the Ram app help? IDK. But, seems my battery charger is taking far less time to get to “float” since deleting it.

Try and get them to give you new batteries, with deleting the app and new batteries I've had zero issues. Once batteries die they never work the same

I just got the same Alert when I started mine up this afternoon. I've got about 550 miles on it. I was actually leaving the detail shop that's going to do my ceramic coat/PPF. Damn! I'm supposed to take the truck in to the detail shop Thursday, and they'll have it 2 days! No time to take it to the dealer before then.

For you other guys who have had this issue, do you think I'm safe to drop it off at the detailer for a couple of days and get it to the dealership next week after the ceramic and PPF?

Thanks in advance!

Do you have the Ram app installed on your phone? Asking for tracking purposes.

I deleted my Ram app & have been fully charging my batteries (external on a C-Tech charger). Seems to have helped with the safety system faults. Took a 180 mile trip a few days ago & only 1 or 2 alerts that involved my forward collision warning. Surprisingly, no blind spot alerts.

Though, I hooked my charger up this AM & seems the batteries are low again. Both were replaced during PDI a few weeks ago.

Based on other folks with this issue, seems to be a voltage problem. Dealer wants my truck for 4-days to have Ram troubleshoot. Not fond of the idea, as that how nice trucks get dinged and/or keyed…at least in urban areas. So trying to minimize the issue until it can no longer be ignored.

Just be glad your cats didn’t melt. Or, maybe that’s how you get another new truck! Read about that on another thread.

Yes, I do have the Ram ap installed. I checked voltage, and I'm at 14.5V according to the truck's readout.

I'm with you on not liking to leave truck at the dealership overnight. May take it to another dealer in a more rural area.

Also, what does PDI stand for?

Thanks RHOfan!

Pre-Delivery Inspection.

During my PDI, the tech could not charge the original batts to the minimum required voltage. So, I got new batteries. Seems that’s a common issue since the new electrical architecture debuted.

14.5V…is that with the engine off? If yes, try again with the engine running. Mine defaults to 14.xV with the engine off. Yet, it still takes a full 36 hours to charge to float.

Sorry. I meant 14.5 when engine running

I’ve never had an issue starting it up. Yet
