JANUARY order updates!

Production on the 9th, I called and checked on the 17th and it was in JS status. Tracker says April 25th delivery, but I think it will be a week or two at most.

No. They’ll have it shipped to your local dealership and they do the pdi . If your local dealership is willing to do it!

This is a great concept and would personally make this purchase a lot easier, but, I wonder how many dealerships would cooperate? I'm thinking not many, at least where I live.

Seems like opinions vary on this topic. Some say PDI is nothing - a non-event and it doesn't matter who does it. I ordered from Koons and talked to them about this - they say they won't do it and don't want a vehicle under their name inspected and released by someone else. Who knows . . .

Come to think of it, I bet the guy that trashes other tunes but doesn't actually have an alternative knows. Ideal or something like that? Where is he when you need him?

Asked Grok a couple questions surrounding the topic and was quickly convinced it
'could' become a can of worms for all parties involved(both dealers, customer, transporter and manufacturer).

The saying if it was easy everyone would be doing it comes to mind.

What was your spec? My order date, schedule date and production date were all 3 or 4 days off of yours. Hoping the rest is as well!

Finally got into the tracker. Come to find out the dealer gave me the wrong order number. Right now, showing scheduled 6 Feb. Can't wait for this truck to get here.

nice! i was debating on the red interior trim. i test drove one at a semi local dealer that had it and didn't mind it but ultimately decided not to get it. i'll be putting aftermarket running boards on mine, just have to figure out which ones i like

Yeah, i have to decide which running boards to get also. I need the power ones so my wife can get in the truck.

Update from dealer this morning. Production has started and I am in paint. Tracker has not updated.

I saw my Koons update this AM. The tracker says "In production" as of 2/14 (order date was 1/7) but the Koons update file has it at JS - which means it has been built, has been through inspection and is sitting in storage. Koons also has a ship date of 2/25 and the tracker has an estimated delivery date of 4/26. Two months for getting it to the dealer seems crazy - I hope/think it's wrong/way conservative.

FWIW, they did updates on the tracker last Sunday - maybe they will do it again tomorrow and we will all wake up pleasantly surprised again tomorrow!

Yikes. I was just looking at the Koons update posted late last week. In this day and age of Amazon, I guess my expectations were quite different on the shipping aspect - there is one October estimated ship date that apparently hasn't made its way to the dealership and one from November - plus quite a few from January. Maybe it takes 4-8+ weeks after all to get a truck to a dealer. I realize this isn't a pack of razors, but still . . .
