Not taking delivery

Mannn this thread is a rough ride. Depending on who posted last, I go back and forth about wanting the RHO.

Emotionally, RHO is the BTC of trucks. High highs, lowwww lows.

I take delivery tomorrow, so please no one else post any more FUD or else I might cave. 😂
The entire forum, not just this thread, has started to affect my mental health and well-being 😅

Seems most of these RHOs are running fine. After 4 mos of “problem RHO” ownership, I have to ask myself how satisfied I’d be with a “no problem RHO”.

Answer: It’s good, not perfect for my perfectionist tastes.

The I6 likes to rev & hang in lower gears. Driving a BIG V8 truck last week, I marveled at how effortlessly it slid into 10th gear at 46 mph. I know it’s peak HP/ TQ is not in Hurricane territory, but it felt worlds more powerful in the driving we do 99% of the time.

And, I’m a RWD purist…any torque to the front tires when not needed is a “flaw” to me. I feel it in RHO on every trip. Most people, especially those who grew up in front wheel drive cars, would never notice.

So, if you like an engine that hangs in lower gears to keep the rpm’s up & don’t care what ‘torque steer” is, if you get a perfect/reliable RHO, it may be your perfect vehicle!

I bailed as well. Here's the email I sent:

Too much has happened since I made my order. Ram doesn't understand simple concepts like 'first in line, first on the ride' so how can they be trusted with hard things (like making trucks)? Also unimpressed with my trade offer (do they really need to make 25%?). Then there are all of the issues reported with the RHO. Finally, Ram decided to announce the rebirth of the TRX. Bottom line: I'm not buying this thing. Thanks for everything but it's been too much of a shit-show. Not Mark's fault.

Somehow I missed this. Are you talking about merging the TRX and RHO forums?
That’s crazy talk. The TRX gear heads would eat you guys alive

Agree and outside of this community, I am not sure there is any real buzz about the RHO. Only 1900 and the RHO appears to be depreciating like any other Ram. Ram built almost 4x as many TRX the first year and they appreciated. Non discount dealers already discounting their stock orders. Well documented litnany of problems. Buy the truck because you like it. Its definitely not going to be an appreciating asset.
I gotta be honest, I'm thinking again about at lightly used TRX. There are a few Lunar Editions out there - and I absolutely LOVE that color combo/look. I'm not saying TRXs won't ever have issues but this is getting ridiculous. Add to it that my truck is in KZLD (aka long delay) shipping status and hasn't even appeared on my Ram app after close to 5 weeks. My guess is the batteries are dead as a door nail and my truck is sitting in a lonely graveyard in Michigan. :( I would never hear the end of it from my wife if bail - I have 4k of stuff (including a nearly 6' tall stack of tires) in my garage.

Why not just go get an RHO that's on a lot then? There are some dealer discounts to be had now. Maybe not $10k off, but pretty close.

I'm not seeing any of those - and if I bot an RHO, it needs to be exactly what I'm looking for. I don't want to pay that much for a vehicle and not get exactly what I want. The red interior trim seems to be hard to find in particular.

Most dealers around here are doing maybe 5k - plus I still wind up with a truck that appears to be plagued with issues. I dunno. Struggling . . .

Agree with JS59.

Additionally, while the car companies are enjoying relief from the CAFE standards under the current administration, that relief could be very temporary depending on what happens four years from now.

Point being - the manufacturers cannot be short-sighted and go full ham with a bunch of thirsty, clunky V8s everywhere. I think the era of efficient and powerful 6s is here to stay.
You make an excellent point. Me being old school, I recall when the big blocks hit the chopping block because of Insurance Companies not wanting to cover them along with the fuel crises. So they preferred the small cubic inch small blocks with HP that would rival the big blocks. People thought, sure the small blocks would go away from being tainted with mechanical issues and non-performance issues. But they never did have either of those issues and became very popular. In fact, the small blocks were outperforming the big blocks as the big blocks died off never to return. Today, small blocks still on their way out in V8 format still are much better performers than their original big blocks.

That was hilarious to read through. What ever became of Bambi? Lol.

Dealers are marketing these RHOs above 100k already. If you buying at the 70s, in one year at least the money back is not a stretch. My dealer in Jacksonville Florida sold 2 right at MSRP without discount and they have a level 0 in the building.

Dude, that is insane...no way these trucks are even close to being worth that much. When I got my truck I knew I could get a better deal but I wanted it now so only getting 6500 off was not amazing but worth it....that said I would have never touched this car if it was at MSRP let alone $15k-$20k more.

Wow!! no way an RHO should be listed that high nor is an RHO worth anywhere near that. But hey, maybe that one is a “problem free” edition… “RHO PF”

Love my truck and all but a $101k RHO would be a hard pass for me.

You should search and read all his stuff. No filter at all!. When he passed I thought "no way, he's faking his death to avoid two female Russian spies he picked up at a strip club." Unfortunately, it was not the case Tremendously sad. Came from a great family. Just goes to show you you never know.

I went through a bunch his posts after Eighty commented. The dude was truly a badass who gave no fucks and a wealth of knowledge. Life at full throttle. So damn sad, gone too soon. I read through his RIP thread and made me realize what a loved figure he was in the community. The video wide open on "mexico" roads passing people wide open with the gloves on playing heartbreaker is all time! Wish he were here today. The shit he would be posting in this forum.... LOL . The RHO would be discontinued by RAM simply from his hate comments in the forums im sure. :ROFLMAO:

On another note, Here for you fellas! You are never alone!

The key is the are marketing them at this - not selling them. A simple google search for RHOs for sale would clue people into the reality that these are selling for below MSRP. I did a search within 200 miles of Orlando and there are 15 or 20 trucks for under MSRP advertised. The fact that a rich guy rolls into a dealership every blue moon and writes a check for over MSRP does not indicate that's where the market is. Good luck doing that with a used truck - unless you have a bunch of rich guys walking around your neighborhood with checkbooks in hand!

I do agree that getting the vast majority of your money back is a possibility - but keep in mind most are eating 5k+ in sales tax and that is just lost money.

I agree with you. I would never pay over MSRP but some people do. Maybe someone goes there and they bring the price back to msrp and they buy it thinking I made a deal.

I did the same search and there is a lot of RHOs at MSRP but I do not see one RHO below MSRP, if you do please post it because I'll go get it and forget about my 10 month order that know ones knows where it is at.

I'm not sure if my search filters will stick, but here is the FL search I did on autotrader.com. There are at least 15 on here below MSRP. I picked an Orlando zip and did within 200 miles.

Might be some catch on these, but wow . . .
