Truck wasn’t struggling. Just any acceleration made it louder, making it sound as if the truck is working harder than it actually was.

One of our customers asked us to order this and have it welded into his RHO before he took delivery. We ordered it, and before it came in he changed his mind and backed out of the whole truck deal. UPS just dropped it off........I have a new AWE cat back coming to me already, but I cant lie, I'm curious as to what it would sound like with it replacing the factory muffler and valves. Its Dual 3" in/out, its 24" long, and has a built in X pipe. I'm trying to get the GM to let me take a truck from our inventory, across the street to the muffler shop, but something tells me he isn't going to go for that.

Is that the Magnaflow 12599 ?
I was already thinking of doing exactly this!

I opened my valves for like a week and ended up returning to stock. The truck is always just a bit louder and you always hear the engine humming. Not in a bad way but always felt like engine as under load. It sounded good with them open but in a way always kinda made the truck feel like it was struggling more because it was louder under any load.

Maybe I’m getting old but I think factory setup is perfect. Might open up valves again but I think the truck is already 50% louder than any other vehicles on the road

I am old, not getting old! At some point you have to decide if you want to announce your arrival everywhere with a burly exhaust. I prefer the discretion (stealth?) offered by the stock exhaust

Month end at work got in the way. I'm a parts manager for 3 different dealerships and have to get all three store's months closed today. The plan is to get the AWE installed on my truck tomorrow or Thursday, and get the muffler put on the stock unit at the same time.
