Quality is not job 1.

MD has a dedicated PDI facility where they have a team doing nothing but this job. They'll certify that it came to them without flaws. The shipping company will then document the condition when they pick it up. Any damage not documented there and noticed by you at delivery would be covered under the shippers insurance.

Ram corporate shouldn't really come into play at all here.

The thing I'm worried about is if somehow all of the above miss something, how willing is a local dealer going to be to take care of you.
Unless something is missed during the PDI, which happens all the time.

Yeah that was the last section of my post you quoted.

For those that are ordering out of state and shipping the truck: If we notice defects like these will RAM argue its on the shipping company then we'll have to battle that? Hard to argue dirt in the paint and interior flaws is on shipping, but I could see scuffs and scratches. We are buying the trucks sight unseen. In my case, does MD @AnthonyRI perform a thorough inspection before we sign off and purchase?
Discount is worth the risk As noted in an ealier post, the bed of a Laramie I bought my daughter in Dec '23 had rust pits throughout. I bought it sight unseen and had it shipped. Could not really drive it back to MD so they told me to work with Ram through my local dealer. Still fighting with Ram. Two other trucks I bought sight unseen from MD were perfect.

Most RAM dealers in DFW area suck the big D, either incompetent or straight up assholes.

Not sure they are any better further south. 🤦‍♂️

Ugh...I don't understand why businesses / people don't care about performing at the highest level each and every day. It takes more effort to suck at life than to champion through adversity. It's a flawed mindset with which I do not align.

Anyway, the best I could find locally to me was Huffines in Lewisville, TX, has a 4.7 google rating, most feedback positive, including service department which is what really matters to me. Most dealers in DFW though, absolutely TERRIBLE reviews, especially service department related. Good help is VERY hard to find these days.

Good luck to all of us that don't live near MD.

I don’t either, it only costs them money to be crappy.

I’ve had great experiences buying from Bluebonnet in New Braunfels. Low hassle service from Boerne DCJR in Boerne.

Well after opening a case with Ram Cares and bitching more than I should have to, meeting with Rams District Service Manager Friday morning.

I’ll let you know how it goes. Fingers crossed.

Well after meeting with the DM last Friday morning and going over every issue with the truck...I was to hear back today for next steps.

I reached out as I hadn't heard from them, this is the response I got:

I just spoke with my DM, however, I need to go over everything with Trent and he is on vacation until Monday.
May we call you on Monday to go over the details?

Excuse me?? What does the sales manager have to do with anything?

I reached out to Ram Cares again as they are aware of our situation to get their take and recommendations.

I tried to do an order there. I bought my Jeep from them using my employee discount so wanted to do the same on the RHO. Had everything confirmed with the sales guy and he called me when one came in to test drive. As SOON as I got there (30 minutes later), they put a sold sign on the truck and the manager came out and told me that they have NEVER honored EPP (employee pricing) at Bluebonnet. I showed him my old invoice to make him look like an ass. He didn't care and wasn't interested in selling anything. Won't be back there, even for service. They clearly have enough money and don't need mine.

So another update. It wouldn’t have happened if didn’t locate the CEO of the dealership chains email address. On my last reply expressing my frustration, I cc’d him.

Suddenly a response with some answers! Who would have thought?!

From the service manager:

The information that I have from our DM is that they will take care of the interior door panel, the rear bumper, the hitch and the scratch on the lower body paint, passenger side, rear. The remainder of the repairs will be the responsibility of the dealer.

So I guess I’m getting somewhere. 3 weeks in and finally getting answers.

For those of you still reading and are here in Texas, we bought our truck from Crossroads, part of the Foundation auto group.

Trying to buy and support local people and this is what we get. No good deed goes unpunished. 😂
