So I finally had an issue come up with my RHO. Whenever I’m in WOT in first gear, it will not shift into second. It will bounce off the rev limiter and fall on its face. I tried this in both auto (sport) and manual - both have the same results. No CEL, which is surprising. Any ideas?

I don't know about tranny issues with RHO because my factor order has yet to arrive but I can share this with you: My 2021 Rebel 5.7 has a very similar issue. Under WOT, transmission won't shift between two gears until I momentarily lay off of throttle. If I stay in it, it will fall flat on its face and stop pulling above 70 MPH. But if I back off for a moment, it shifts gears and then pulls hard again. I brought it into service for the issue. Service manager drove it himself, was able to recreate the issue and acknowledge it, but had no answers. He said that all diagnostics show no mechanical or software problems with transmission. He basically told me that computer controls transmission and shifts and that maybe a future update will address it but there was no real basis for warranty claim. I suppose I could have pushed it and argued but I left it alone. It hasn't deteriorated to a problem beyond that hiccup in proper automatic shifting. But I was never happy about it.

Different vehicle, different year but same transmission. Probably some long-standing shortcoming with RAM engineering.

That sounds pretty much identical to my issue. Surprised this issue hasn’t come up with anyone else on this forum. I searched everywhere.

These trucks have issues, way too many CEL posts. Heck, I was part of the original 6th gen Bronco release and it wasn’t anywhere NEAR the amount of issues as I have seen on this forum. I love my RHO but this is ridiculous.

I agree. I'm getting depressed. This was what I saw when I jumped on this AM:

I was an early buyer on both the Gen 1 Raptor and the TRX.

Believe me, both forums were filled with nothing but complaints and problems for the first year or two.

It's an outspoken minority for sure. Yes, there are issues with a new launch, but that's the roll of the dice on any new/redesigned product.

Have you checked the trans fluid. I remember watching some of the videos for roadkill direct connection where they had influencers build vehicles to race. One of them was a Dakota(Gen2 garage) that was having trans problems similar and think it came down to fluid but can't remember for sure.

Agree with Twinturbo6, have dealer check and fill transmission.

While the truck will have some growing pains, it's still a blast to drive. My new battery's seemed to have fixed the issue's I had. Time will tell.

I had a gen3 raptor that had a ton of issues, some electrical, which is why I sold it and you would think everything would of been straightened out by now this far into it. Also looking back at gen2's it took a long time to get cam phasers figured out and the wastegate rattle and the plastic oil pans and people constantly having to have their trans re-flashed for shifting problems. Prior to purchasing an rho I looked at tundras(major engine failures) and a GMC at4x with a 6.2(lifter problems). Its all a roll of the dice even if the product is not new lol

It is crazy to see how many issues all the brands are having. I personally think it is because of Covid and the effects that had on manufacturers. Everyone had to scramble to source parts and things were rushed, components were used that were not properly vetted, etc. Now it just seems like, because the manufacturers got away with it then, they have carried over these bad habits.

Great suggestion and will do. It's going to the dealership tomorrow and I'll have them check. Thanks!

Also the unions got their fat increases. Just think of Ezekiel Elliott before and after being paid.

I saw a video on YT by Tyler Potter and it talked about a TRX that stumbled when shifting, turns out it was misfiring. Maybe its something similar?

But no CEL, no codes. 🤷‍♂️ Guess we’ll find out.

From Another YouTuber I was watching, His truck was actively misfiring but didn’t put the check engine light on for a while. I can’t remember his @. But he has a new rebel. Like he didn’t get a blinking check engine light. Maybe the dealership should try and have trans relearn the shift points it might help.

Yes, Covid was an excuse for shitty quality control and they continue to use that excuse to this day which is total bullshit !!! But too many people are letting it happen still and it needs to stop !!! :)

My transmission just doesn’t feel smooth. Primarily when slowing down, the shift from 3rd to 2nd clunks often. And in slow/creeping traffic if I tap the gas it clunks. When driving at 20+mph it’s smooth. It seems to not like when it’s not under load.
