RHO Delivered

I’ll let you know if I find anything wrong or if I’m able to tune it. I did play with the basic EQ, which gave the treble a nice tone, but that was the only improvement I could achieve at this point.

We all “hear” differently, so that may be why we differ in opinion. Don’t mean to offend anyone.

My neighbor has a TRX with HK & we never talked sound system. I may bring it up with him, as he might provide some insight.
Can you compare TRX HK vs RHO HK, if you can.

Members on 5th Gen form saying that the HK in 25s is not as good as the pervious models.
Well that fucking sucks...like why would RAM change the HK system...man they sure know how to piss off mass amounts of people simultaneously.

For those who are feeling angry with the order process (I have an unscheduled April 29th order so I feel that), I can definitively say the truck will be worth the wait.
In the last month or so I have been more and more serious about looking into getting another truck.
Someone who took delivery of their RHO already was nice enough to show me his truck and take me for a spin.

The truck had L1, pano, bed utility, Beadlocks, tow mirrors. Might be some other small things I didn’t notice but that covers the big things.

My thoughts:

Very comfortable. Seats are cushy, massaging function works well. I have a fair amount to compare to as I did a short stint working in automotive journalism in a past life. The massaging function is impressive and will definitely get a lot of use in my truck, whenever I actually get it.

Exhaust note is meh. I don’t hate it, I don’t love it. It’s kinda just… there. The good thing is that from inside the cabin with all windows rolled up it is not very loud even at full throttle. Just cruising around it’s very quiet.

The tow mirrors are giant. I didn’t order them and I’m glad I didn’t because there is a noticeable wind noise. It’s not overwhelming and I’m sure it would be something you can get used to after a while but I did notice it even at fairly low speeds, in the 55mph range.

We did a few launches and from a dig it is quick. No, it’s not going to blow anyone’s hair off but I wasn’t all that impressed with the TRX when I drove one around for a few days either. The 30k dollar saving over a TRX and feeling slightly slower than a TRX is a trade off I’m willing to take. Please remember I am EXTREMELY jaded when it comes to fast cars. I’ve driven and ridden in the fastest cars imaginable so take what I’m saying with a grain of salt.

Ride quality. Noticeably better than a TRX. The lighter front end makes a difference. The TRX for my taste was always just a tad too firm. The RHO really seems to soak up road imperfections better and settle quicker. I think it will make for a great road trip vehicle.

I ordered a white RHO and the truck I saw yesterday was also white. I’ve had reservations about the color more recently after seeing a few photos pop up on the Internet, but after seeing it in person I really do like the white much better than it photographs.

All in all, I am no longer looking at other vehicles. I’ll wait it flout for the RHO because after finally being able to see it in person I know I would not be happy with something else. The interior really sold me on the experience. Hope this helps as we all play this stupid waiting game!

Just finished paperwork and getting the run through and the screen isn’t working. Is this a bad omen? Couldn’t even drive it off the lot without an issue.
What do you mean by, it isn’t working? It won’t turn on? Unresponsive to touch?

Mine sat in storage for a bit, so both the batteries had to be replaced as they would not reach their minimum delivery voltage. Bad omen? No. Easily fixed.

Glad you mentioned the massage function. It was much better than I expected. Will I use it much? Probably not. But, it seems to work well.

Half the screen is working to touch and the right side is not responding at all. Left dealership in my trade in and hoping for a good news call shortly.

Most new cars have some sort of issue. It's why it is usually good to buy one slightly used so someone else had to fix everything before you got it, just doesn't lend itself to getting a brand new model.

Expect issues like that as you shake it down, and you will get past it.*

You did the right thing. If they can’t fix it fast, pull the plug on the deal & wait for the next RHO to arrive.

Happened to my wife on a Miata purchase back in the 90s. We actually took delivery, but brought it right back due to an engine stumble. They couldn’t fix it on the spot, so I told the dealer to get another one, exact same colors/options. Two days later, they did & we took delivery. Two weeks later, service called & said our car was ready…HA! They didn’t know we had swapped cars.

I had an the check engine light come on today. was a low voltage code. It is going on next Monday to see what is going on. there is a dual battery in the engine bay a normal size battery and a small one behind it. I thought I saw something about the 2 batteries' not communicating because of the low voltage... this makes me wonder if it is a similar issue to what you saw on your RHO.

When I told a co-worker I was getting a RAM, first thing he warned me about was the touch screens. Went on to say how they eventually start randomly changing screens as if you are giving it input. Seems it happens more when the interior gets hot. He has a 2500 that the screen is getting replaced. I will admit that this has happened to me twice now. Once I was in settings and then it magically went back to the home screen. Hope it's nothing but a minor annoyance.

My display is kinda slow for sure sometimes, esp when switching profiles.

Dealer is saying new screen will arrive tomorrow and hoping they get it switched out quickly. Nothing like sitting at dealership and getting through paperwork and then seeing the truck and not being able to take it home. My loaner car is the car I was trading in lol. Really hope this screen doesn’t turn into a nightmare.

Not sure if there was something else to your message but what I was looking for was an estimate from the actual built date to delivery?? My tracker just moved from In production where it sat for two months to built as of a few days ago. From This point forward when should I expect to see it arrive in Louisiana where it was ordered?

I believe my built date was 10/24. It showed up at dealership 11/15. Lots of variables here though. Time to get scheduled and on the train, time from port to dealership. Mine got from port to dealership reasonably fast. I consider mine close to best case. If it's like mine, you will get an email describing next steps when it is confirmed at port.

I bought a truck that arrived at a dealer & the original buyer didn’t like the color, so I can’t speak for how long things take between tracker steps.

I do know my truck was built in October & delivered to an AZ dealer on Nov 20th. It definitely sat somewhere in storage for an unknown reason. Based on the paint condition & how much protective film adhesive transfer was found on my truck, it sat for at least 30-45 days.

Unknown if they are still holding finished RHOs, so there’s your biggest hurdle in anticipating a delivery date.
