Call me a stickler, but trucks randomly shutting down while being driven on the highway is not a minor problem, nor is it a problem that should be accepted simply because its a new model year. Beyond unsafe.
I will say it's shocking how many gremlins are out there - and some that are pretty serious. This exact engine/drivetrain as I understand it has been in the Grand Wagoneer since 2023. Plus, the regular Wagoneer has had the 3.0 since 2023 as well - I know because I have one. My point is that we keep saying "this is a new platform, so you have to expect . . .". Not trying to incite a riot here, but is that really true? I get that the RHO itself is new, but taking a 3rd model year engine/drivetrain and putting in a truck (which shares the Wagoneer basic platform) chassis that has been around at minimum since the TRX was released isn't exactly an all new vehicle.
The ho was an option for the grand wagoneerThat’s not the same engine man. The high out put uses more than 50% different parts than the standard 3.0 … has completely different crank shaft, different connecting rods, different rod bearings, different intake valves , has forged aluminum Pistons etc…
It’s not like fords powerstoke engine that is internally identical to the standard and high out put.
Still wasn’t the same, it made 510hp. Not defending ram, they gotta get their shit together but their were changes made and electrical issues arnt helping. The ho was an option for the grand wagoneer
agreed!Yes the engine in one form or another has been around for a few years. However the wiring harness and system is new and vastly different than last years Ram. I would guess that is where the issues stem from.

Who'd you buy from?Let me start by saying the truck is badass. That’s where my good experience ends. Picked up new RHO on 12/23. 12/24 noticed fluid leaking under driver side. Called dealer and brought it in. Turned out thermostat was broken. Kind of a bummer for a brand new 88k truck. Dealer returned car to me on 1/15. Drove for the first time after drop off today, filled with gas and hopped on the highway. 10 miles in, center console went crazy, gas gauge went from 388 miles left to 0. No fuel light on dash and every other light going off AMD truck had no acceleration, literally like it thought I was out of gas. I was going 75 mph in left lane and had to glide to right hand shoulder Turned it off, prayed, and started back up. It started, gas gauge went to 22 then gradually to 300…super scary and crazy activity. Called Dealer, who has been nothing but awesome and they just sent flatbed to tow it away. It was home for 1 day! So disappointed and disheartened that I might have a lemon. Just posting in case this happens to anyone else.

Well, technically yours was not a lemon (unless Lemon law in your state says an engine failure at 50 miles=lemon). You had a dealer who put your needs 1st.Took 1 issue 1 time to make mine a lemon
Read the full post. The Grand Wagoneer DOES have the high output - and 2025 is the 3rd model year for it in that application. That’s not the same engine man. Yeah - the RHO has a different exhaust and a cold air intake. If there are other differences, I'm not sure what they are.Still wasn’t the same, it made 510hp. Not defending ram, they gotta get their shit together but their were changes made and electrical issues arnt helping.
The RHO has an entirely new electrical architecture called 'Atlantis', I'm sure there are teething problems with all of the new electrical and software programming/integration that are contributing to most of these gremlins.Yeah - the RHO has a different exhaust and a cold air intake. If there are other differences, I'm not sure what they are.
Yeah dealer did take care of me but a "lemon" is car with a significant defect or malfunction that makes it unsafe to drive, including non working or faulty brakes, engines, transmission. This truck died at 70mph. I was lucky I didn’t have anyone on my right and was able to roll of the side of the road in the dark.Well, technically yours was not a lemon (unless Lemon law in your state says an engine failure at 50 miles=lemon). Bro, your wife's face tells us everything we need to know about your awful experience, she looks pissed, concerned, and incredibly saddened for you. If this happened to me with my 5 yr old daughter in the truck, RAM/Stellantis would meet the devil...Yeah dealer did take care of me but a "lemon" is car with a significant defect or malfunction that makes it unsafe to drive, including non working or faulty brakes, engines, transmission. No highway lights and no truck lights when it failed. Door lights turned on when I got out and then was able to switch on hazard lights.
Yeah I won’t be ordering another one if the replacement causes me issues like this. I’m giving them 1 more chance and then probably going to get a TRX until they can figure out the issues.Bro, your wife's face tells us everything we need to know about your awful experience, she looks pissed, concerned, and incredibly saddened for you. I'm happy this all worked out in the end for you, and hopefully your new RHO won't be a big pile of shit.
Same with me I am 95% sure I am not talking delivery on FEB or ever.Bro, your wife's face tells us everything we need to know about your awful experience, she looks pissed, concerned, and incredibly saddened for you. Yea brother, I'm a May order and the damn thing just hit scheduled on Jan 6 along with several others that have been waiting. Part of me is excited I may see my truck before the 1 year mark (fucking crazy), HOWEVER, with the misfires and electronic issues it is quite sobering. This build has made me very anxious, and not in a good way. I've been saying I'll wait for the 2026 models, which I still may do, but I don't know quite yet. If RAM fixes these issues, I'm all in on original order, if not, that's a big gamble.Same with me I am 95% sure I am not talking delivery on FEB or ever.
If I want to deal with these issues I will get the 25 year old land rover defender in great condition with 200km and a warranty. Then ship it back with me.
They built my truck before dudes from May to September, a few months earlier then expected since I ordered after Thanksgiving. Makes it extremely difficult to plan for, this combined with all the issues even if its 5% or less of truck makes me want to pull out.
